Brother Nathaniel: I have wrapped them in tatami and then soaked for 24 hours and then the very center of the dowel is still a bit dry. I believe soaking them before helps a bit to soak them through properly for a more proper "live bone" analog. Jan 19, 2020 23:42:24 GMT
Brother Nathaniel: Oh these dowels work great as tatami cores! It even makes the rolling of the tatami easier as you are wrapping it around it. But I would say to soak it at least half a day before you use wrap it in the tatami( and then soak again) to make sure it's not dry Jan 19, 2020 23:41:05 GMT
lioconvoy: Thanks! I was looking for something that would act as the "core" of my tatami rolls! That will work perfectly! Jan 19, 2020 23:26:54 GMT
Brother Nathaniel: I'm a big fan of the newspaper rolls. I would say they are approximately 1.5x as difficult as the equivalent tatami thickness. I like these also, soaked for a day. www.amazon.com/Wooden-Dowel-Rods-Unfinished-Woodpecker/dp/B01C4MVA1E Jan 19, 2020 22:37:57 GMT
snowbite: Tightly rolled newspaper. Soak before cutting Jan 19, 2020 21:58:27 GMT
lioconvoy: Hey guys; what makes a good bamboo substitute for mat cutting? I'm almost out. Jan 19, 2020 17:41:02 GMT
AndiTheBarvarian: I once got a PM while I was drunk... Jan 19, 2020 10:42:13 GMT *
Brother Nathaniel: Hey I never got a drunken PM :'( Jan 19, 2020 4:27:14 GMT
snowbite: Last night I had a bit too much expensive (gifted) whiskey-aged braun ale so I apologize for any PM’s I sent. What’d I miss? Jan 19, 2020 3:36:52 GMT
snowbite: Haha, you went there! Jan 18, 2020 23:33:54 GMT
Brother Nathaniel: I love blackened/blu'd as you guys know. I even enjoy the brown sugar if you know what I mean.... :D Jan 18, 2020 23:23:05 GMT
snowbite: lots of good mail sales in there! Unfortunately mostly blackened or butted. I need a DANM coif and loose rings & the rivet pliers Jan 18, 2020 23:16:54 GMT
Brother Nathaniel: Fried pork chops and chicken for me. Jan 18, 2020 18:51:52 GMT
christain: Now pork and chicken....that's gotta be damn near burnt. Otherwise.... (puke)..... >:D Jan 18, 2020 18:47:04 GMT
christain: A man after my own heart. A steak that's brown all the way through ain't worth eating. Got to have the PINK! ;)--- :P Jan 18, 2020 18:43:54 GMT
Brother Nathaniel: One rare T-Bone for me please! 8-) Jan 18, 2020 18:01:38 GMT
christain: Chainmail, anyone? KoA has some super deals in their 'Special Sales' section. Go on...you know you want some. 8D Jan 18, 2020 17:56:45 GMT
christain: Lovely Saturday here in E. Texas. :) Got beer, fire-pit wood, charcoal, and two marinated T-bones. Middle of January and I'm doing summer stuff. O_o I'm not griping, but it's just weird. It could snow tomorrow, and it wouldn't surprise me a bit. ??? Jan 18, 2020 17:52:03 GMT
ouroboros: Making pancakes and hoping to snag an hour more sleep ? :) Jan 18, 2020 13:52:22 GMT
