Hello all! Question. Does anybody have any idea about the size of the GDFB surcoats? On every website, they either do not list a size, say "one size fits most", or just say "Standard size". I'm a bigger guy, I wear between an XL and XXL shirt, and I worry about this surcaot fitting over a gambeson and mail. I suppose I could always alter it, but that's a pain in the ass. Below is a link to the one on KOA I'm looking at. Any input on the size of these things would be appreciated!! Thanks!! www.kultofathena.com/product.asp?item=GB3945&name=Teutonic+Surcoat+-+Wool

Why not write KoA and ask?

They are pretty huge. My brother and I bought them, and he's an XL, but it was still quite loose on him. I'm a medium and I was swimming in mine, had to alter it rather extensively.

It's the steel on the inside that counts.

If you are that concerned about it, you might go with a tabard that is open on both sides. You just slip it over your head and belt it up. Medieval Collectibles has one very similar, made by Mytholon, in tabard-style. I'm terrible on computer stuff, or I would post a link. This will have to do...just look under 'Tabards and Surcoats'. www.medievalcollectibles.com
