The Jian reminds me of the sword used by Blade in the movies.

I think there have also been some implied scenes in video games too. I remember the very first WWE Smackdown vs. Raw game had one with Torrie Wilson . Dragon Age is another one that comes to mind but I never played any of the series.

Any one ever experienced these before when reading a story? Or in any other work of fiction? I remember when I first read the Dark Elf Trilogy which was about Drizzt Do'Urden. Back then, I was still young and had no idea that Drizzt was a character in the Forgotten Realms or Dungeons and Dragons. I didn't even know about the series, I just got the book because it was about dark elves or drow. Anyways, I was reading the first part, Homeland, and it was the part during the graduation ceremony or something for drow at the academy. I think it involved the valedictorian or high priestess stripping naked and offered to some demonic creature that was summoned. At first, I thought she was being eaten by the demon because she was screaming. Now I realize it might have been a different kind of feast and a different of screaming . The room they were in was filled with incense and everyone was on the floor in a "tangle of limbs." I read through the book again when I was older and realized "Oh, they're having a drug-induced class orgy. That's kinda hot, I guess." Drizzt is all innocent and confused (maybe more than me) during this whole ordeal, and one of the females grabbed his hand in a pleading way to take her right there. Of course, he refuses and walks out and his older sister Vierna follows him out (I think she's described as being naked or close to it). Cue awkward moment because Vierna is his full-blooded sister, unlike his other half siblings of House Do'urden. Vierna proceeds to scold Drizzt because the woman he refused could have him severely punished and even says that she herself experienced it when she graduated (Drow society was very matriarchal with fanatical worship to some spider goddess.) Another was in Halo: Contact Harvest, which is basically the beginning of the Human-Covenant War and mainly follows Sgt. Avery Johnson's perspective. After reading mostly combat and firefights between human militia and overwhelming alien forces, it caught me off guard. Johnson and a female officer (can't remember her name but she was high ranking) get some private time after escaping the fall of planet Harvest. I had to flip back to the cover to make sure I was reading a Halo novel. The descriptions weren't explicit but it was pretty obvious that they were getting it on .

I’ve been playing “For Honor” since day one...I’m prestige 85...lol. Same here but I'm only rep 52. I got my Nobushi and Orochi to rep 11, Kensei to rep 7, Lawbringer to rep 6, Valkyrie to rep 5, Warden and Highlander to rep 3, Warlord and Centurion to rep 2, and recently Shugoki and Shinobi to rep 1. I haven't spent a single cent on microtransactions; I have gotten all my gear for stats and fashion with just hard earned steel from completing orders. And they say you can't have more than 1 or 2 main heroes to play . I see people who are in the hundreds and I wonder how they are able to play so long with all these constant disconnects. I was able to save up enough steel to buy all Halloween outfits for the entire Samurai faction (except for the Ronin who hasn't been released yet) so that's an accomplishment for me. I'm tempted to get the Halloween outfits for Valkyrie and Lawbringer but I'm only at 29k steel, down from the 60k I had earlier, and I am not going to cave in with real money for more steel . I really wish they could change the animations for the Orochi's light attacks because it just looks off to me. They hold the katana in a proper two-hand grip but then switch to one-hand cuts for the light attacks ?!

I'm still playing Skyrim on the PC. I put in the fishing mod and "live another life" so I can ignore the tiresome main quest and concentrate on what is best in life--hunting, fishing and fighting. I never realized virtual fishing could be so addicting until the fishing mini-game in Final Fantasy XV. I would completely forget all those other important quests to do because I wanted to get all the rods and tackles to catch all kinds of fish. Almost made me want to go out and buy some IRL and set up along the beach park here in Honolulu. Almost.

Been alternating between Smite and For Honor this year. I enjoy Smite's portrayal of mythological figures and gods/godesses and being able to play as them. My favorites are Amaterasu, Nemesis, and Cu Chulainn. For Honor was a game that I've been hyped since the first E3 trailer and I still enjoy playing as the different heroes, but it's littered with network issues and a fairly toxic community. Also tried the Battlefront 2 beta earlier. Pretty fun but not a fan of the loot crate system in it.
I know that the multiplayer expansion for Final Fantasy XV is coming out soon so I'll be trying that. I got the season pass last year during a sale so I think I get the expansion for free. The Episode Gladio and Episode Prompto DLC were okay imo, but Prompto's was probably the better of the two. I hope Episode Ignis will be better since they supposedly saved the best for last. I still want a playable Aranea Highwind, though. She's a badass with her lance.
I am very hyped for Monster Hunter World. It's the first console release since Monster Hunter Tri on the Wii back in 2010. Now it's finally going to have the updated engine and gameplay mechanics it deserves. I've been playing the series since the PSP days when wonky hitboxes were still a thing (it kind of still is.) The recent 3DS releases were fun but I always felt it was lacking because of the portable limitations like with the PSP.

For all the Fate fans out there, the first of the Heaven's Feel movie trilogy is coming to US theatres in November. I've only seen Zero and UBW so I'm excited for this one. Apocrypha isn't done yet but I'm kind of enjoying it as I watch along. www.fatestaynightusa.com/theater/index.html

Of course you can trust us. We're just a harmless bunch who enjoy collecting weapons regardless of gender. Honestly, when reading a bunch of posts and threads, I imagine it in a male or female voice depending on the username and avatar picture. I'm not even sure myself of anyone's gender here unless I intentionally click on their profile. Even then, it wouldn't change how I would interact with them on the forums other than pronouns being different.

Stumbled on this. A Thai Nagi sword. 20 inch 1065 blade and 20 inch handle. Could go short or long reach as space allows with a chopping blade and stealth black. Some places sell it for as low as $50 USD. Blade seems to not be machete flat. Me like. Promo video below. I've been eyeing that one for a while. I wonder how good is the blade and if it can be mounted on to a longer pole like ash wood or something. It could make for a project naginata although the KC one looks nicer, but a bit shorter.

Ardyn Izunia from Final Fantasy XV. His mannerisms and voice pretty much stole the show from the boy band in black every time he showed up. One of my favorite lines is, "I'm worried about your friends. They've fallen and they can't get up!" Cheeky bastard.

So, for those of you who don't know, there was a Humboldt penguin living in a Japanese zoo by the name of Grape-kun (apparently because of the purple identification band on his wing) who became an internet sensation earlier this year. He had a mate of 10 years by the name of Midori and they had a little baby penguin together. Sounds like a nice love story, right? Well, he was taken in for medical treatment and Midori left him for a younger mate, with whom she also had a kid. It was noted that Grape-kun stopped eating during this time. That's pretty harsh. Anyways, some anime called Kemono Friends held a collaboration event with the zoo and a bunch of their anthropomorphic animal character cut-outs were placed everywhere. One of those characters is Hululu, a Humboldt penguin girl. Hululu was placed in Grape-kun's pen and he noticeably became more active and started eating again. He would stare at Hululu and even try to climb the rock to get closer. The zookeepers decided to leave Hululu in his pen even after the event had ended. A couple of twitter posts later and he became famous on the internet as the penguin who fell in love with his anime waifu, touching the hearts of many fans. Cue all the artwork and an eventual visit from Hululu's voice actress herself. Unfortunately, Grape-kun was taken in for medical treatment on October 10 and the following day, he was unable to stand on his own. Grape-kun was about 21 years old, which is actually really old in penguin years. He passed away quietly in the afternoon of October 12, with Hululu by his side. Waddle on, Grape-kun. We salute you. The following link made me tear a little. imgur.com/gallery/cv9cM

So, I decided to go with a custom order instead. I requested a 9260 steel blade in a "Dotanuki style" with a 30 inch blade and 12 inch tsuka. I also went for a battle-wrap with silver habaki and seppa because I wanted something a little different from a bunch of the other katana on sale. Van contacted me and said the price will $169 with $51 shipping to Hawaii. That's a total of $220, which actually surprised me because I thought it was going to be higher. He said it will 40-45 days to complete and I will try to get a newbie review with pictures up as soon as possible after I get it.

Will you be posting images? Interested to see how the odachi looks, especially at that price point. I wonder if Musashi's nagamaki would be just as good.

At least with Myrtenaster, the only moving parts are the cylinder and the top-break action for loading. I think this would make it more back heavy, which I believe is fine for a thrusting weapon (correct me if I'm wrong). I always felt that Monty (rest his soul) should have gone with the fixed cylinder or swing out design instead.
