I think this weapon is pretty neat, especially with a functional firing mechanism. Sure, it doesn't have the magical properties of the show version, but a nice little explosion from a revolving cylinder is cool.

Have been meaning to watch this. I'll need to remember today. Though, if they do a functional Ember Celica? Yes, please.

It's a shame that every weapon they build for this channel looks like it's about 20 pounds heavier than it needs to be.

I echoe Zenhydra here. I love that they make these things, but they're so over - engineered, and the testing they do at the end of the video could be better. Maybe sharpen them, and cut ballistic gel/tatami/melons/those big bottles? I think the cosplayer at the start of the last segment could have faired better if someone told her how to hold a sword.
Still though, It's fun to see the end result, and fun to see the stuff in games and TV made in functional material, even if it does weigh 20 pounds over the reasonable limit for what can be considered as functional. (even though I don't watch TV or play games, still fun to see random stuff made)

They're definitely heavy though - and in some cases it's unavoidable (that Warhammer 40k chainsword... I still want to know how heavy that thing actually was). But it is a fun series.

Have been meaning to watch this. I'll need to remember today. Though, if they do a functional Ember Celica? Yes, please. I feel like a functional Ember Celica could wreck the bones in the hands, if it actually fired shotgun shells. Otherwise, a blank firing version would be fine. A functional Gambol Shroud seems kind of plausible. Its like a folding ko-katana with a glock as its tsuka and the cleaver sheath looks doable. Crescent Rose is really just a sniper rifle with a scythe bayonet. They just need to figure out the whole collapsible mechanism thing. Of course, the main problem with these transforming weapons is the structural integrity because of all the moving parts.

Definitely on the Ember Celica. There's no real way to brace that with a proper combustive propellant. It's either breaking your hands, wrists, or both. Still, even a blank firing one would be awfully amazing. Hell, even having ones that you couldn't fire, just do the reload of 'dump all these empty shells to the floor and slap a new bandolier in' would be awesome.
I agree on the rest - and definitely all of the moving parts would be the biggest barrier. They got over that with Myrtenaster by making it very thick, bulky, and likely very heavy. Finally got a chance to watch it.

At least with Myrtenaster, the only moving parts are the cylinder and the top-break action for loading. I think this would make it more back heavy, which I believe is fine for a thrusting weapon (correct me if I'm wrong). I always felt that Monty (rest his soul) should have gone with the fixed cylinder or swing out design instead.

Yeah, in this case? Back-heavy wouldn't be a bad thing... it's definitely going to be far heavier than even a period rapier of more length and blade width, of course. But enough of their actual build - yeah, in-world, the weight would still be concentrated back also, which would be just fine for her sword type and fighting style.

Particularly with that 'trigger'? I think a curved grip would definitely be a better idea. With the trigger on the side... or even the back.

Or even on a part on top of the handle, So it has to be gripped with two hands to fire?
