Of course you can trust us. We're just a harmless bunch who enjoy collecting weapons regardless of gender. Honestly, when reading a bunch of posts and threads, I imagine it in a male or female voice depending on the username and avatar picture. I'm not even sure myself of anyone's gender here unless I intentionally click on their profile. Even then, it wouldn't change how I would interact with them on the forums other than pronouns being different.

We used to have a few ladies about, but I think a lot them ran into some trouble with some, shall we say, less noble members.
Heck, one year we made a calendar of some very lovely women posing with some pretty cool swords. "Beauty and the Blade" was the theme. October was the best, I say. God, that was ages ago...
I used to have a female avatar, which disappointed quite a few people over the years when I told them I was a 6'2" 240-pound guy...

We've got a few female members, but like you said, this is a majority male population. We try not to foster a "Den of Iniquity" atmosphere on the forum. I've not often seen any kind of public harassment by males to females on here, sexual or otherwise. They get treated about the same, mostly. I suspect based on forum history that they will get more attention and encouragement for a while, and they can likely expect the males to use more chivalrous language in their posts. After a while they will blend in and become essentially one of the guys.

I think many of us would be knightly and nice if they behave like princesses. Do your friends really want this? If they post their ideas or ask questions like any other forumite they would be treated like any other forumite in this friendly forum. And random..., you're NOT... ??

I believe we still have a few contributing female members, they just don't mention it and nor should they have to.

I believe we still have a few contributing female members, they just don't mention it and nor should they have to. That's a good point also. There's no rule stating that anyone needs to announce their gender. If the ladies are feeling trepidation about possible unwanted attention based on their sex, then tell them they can register under a gender-neutral or male type name and just not mention they are ladies.

I think most people here care more about how folks correspond here then if they've got a ding-a-ling or not.

Except the ding-a-ling is a sword from DSA.

Except the ding-a-ling is a sword from DSA. @kylan That sounds interesting, I've heard of anything from M1902's to M80's being found in the ground.

Would this qualify for Beauty and Blades?

Would this qualify for Beauty and Blades? Yes it would! As to women wielding swords, my Mrs doesn't do forums but you should see her brandish a cutlass!

That wasn't ricwilly was it? Yep. If memory serves, purple dress, feathery head piece, and some sort of Conan/Atlantean type sword. Miss that guy.

For all any of you know, I am the prettiest princess.
Not saying I'm not, mind! Just that most of the time the only thing I can actually know about anyone I meet online is how they present themselves, so that's all that matters to me. You could be the tampiest blush-legged tootledim whilther this side of Ganymede, and the hue of your gretules would still make no difference: all I can know or care about is what you post.

Motorcycles are extremely popular, swords generate very tiny interest. You'll often bump into same bunch of people in various forums and sometimes in live meets too.
I know some female collectors however the number is very small. Gender does not matter at all but you need to have passion for swords. People rarely have that...
Guess the new folks today use more easy to access medias than forums to get into the hobby. As in these will require more than Facebook, Youtube etc.

I like swords AND motorcycles, my girlfriend is more interested in motorcycles but can appreciate my swords. I've yet to meet many who really enjoy either as much as I do, male or female, outside of various internet fora etc.
I've found significantly more women into bikes than blades, though.
