Have been meaning to watch this. I'll need to remember today. Though, if they do a functional Ember Celica? Yes, please. I feel like a functional Ember Celica could wreck the bones in the hands, if it actually fired shotgun shells. Otherwise, a blank firing version would be fine. A functional Gambol Shroud seems kind of plausible. Its like a folding ko-katana with a glock as its tsuka and the cleaver sheath looks doable. Crescent Rose is really just a sniper rifle with a scythe bayonet. They just need to figure out the whole collapsible mechanism thing. Of course, the main problem with these transforming weapons is the structural integrity because of all the moving parts.

I haven't bought one from them yet, but I heard sinosword/JKOO is pretty good. They even do custom orders. www.sinosword.com/sword-showroom-1.htmlSt-nihonto and hanbon forge are other ebay vendors that seem to have a good rep as well.

I think this weapon is pretty neat, especially with a functional firing mechanism. Sure, it doesn't have the magical properties of the show version, but a nice little explosion from a revolving cylinder is cool.

I kind of wish I could have seen this on the big screen. The song alone gave me chills, especially when I realized it was also used in the "We are ODST" trailer all those years ago (big Halo fan here).

How much does a custom order usually cost? Maybe I might try that instead.

For $149, I think I might go for the 9260 steel one. Then again, the T10 steel one has the hamon for $199. Decisions, decisions.

I was looking up dotanuki and I came across this: www.sinosword.com/Dotanuki.htmlI am wondering if this is worth the price or if one of the Ronin Dojo Pro would be better instead. Or if any of you can recommend another vendor for dotanuki style blades.

Katanasforsale offer both nodachi and nagamaki, along with custom options. I have never heard of this vendor before so I'm not sure how reputable they are. If anyone wants to take the plunge, it would be nice to know how it goes. katanasforsale.com/product-category/nagamaki-for-sale/

Not really a battle, more of a "sparring" session.
This duel was also pretty interesting but I haven't seen the movie.

Hello, everyone. I just recently joined this forum and some of you may have read my very first post in the Beginner's forum which was Fire Emblem related. Anyways, I am currently 24 years old and live in the state of Hawaii on the island of Oahu. I have always been fascinated with swords since at least the first LoTR film, but I think it started much earlier with those fancy Halloween ninja costumes for kids with the plastic sai. I also drool over firearms, whether they be the real ones or the airsoft replicas. I think my interest in firearms started with my very first shooter game on the N64, which was Turok. The Halo series is my favorite so far, although I'm not amazing at the gameplay but I really enjoy the lore in the novels to the point where I nerdgasm whenever certain things are finally introduced into the main game (Spartan IIIs in Halo: Reach and Blue Team in Halo 5, etc). My sword experience is very little. I've only tried kendo once back in 2013 after a dojo group had a panel at the local annual anime convention called Kawaii Kon. My friend and I decided to drop by at their dojo to try it out. Then I tried some HEMA when the local organization had live demonstrations at the same convention in the following years up to the current year of 2017. So I have an idea on forms, stances, and maneuvers. One of the things that stuck out to me was when one of the kendo students told me to hold the shinai with sort of like an umbrella grip. My first real sword was a Musha "Fire Dragon" katana from True Swords. It was about $69 with free shipping at the time and I got it several months ago. I haven't used it for cutting yet other than stabbing and cutting the box it shipped in. The sword doesn't even stay in the saya; it falls out as soon as I start turning it upside down. Ironically, the metal collar thing at the mouth of the saya came off and the sword actually fits marginally better. I say marginally because the collar added like an extra 2 millimeters or so at the mouth. I would like to purchase more historical and/or fantasy weapons in the future but shipping and handling anything to Hawaii has always been a bane for me. I can only imagine what it's like for international orders, so I shouldn't complain.

Thanks taking the time to reply, guys. I'll be sure to check out all of those links, although, I don't think I'll be making any purchases soon without killing my wallet. I figured that the armor was some kind of gambeson but I wasn't too sure, especially with the outer garment. I just really liked the simple look of this class. As for the copious amounts of hair gel, my hair isn't exactly long enough to look like the mooks but I find that sleeping with a small pillow covering the top half of my face tends to keep my hair swept back .

Hello, everyone. This is my first time posting on the forum and I was wondering if I could get some help identifying this type of armor worn by the Mercenary class in Fire Emblem Fates, the first and only Fire Emblem game I've played so far. I know it's a fantasy game but it has themes of both Medieval Europe/Feudal Japan in the armor and weapons so maybe there are some realistic/historical examples out there. Out of all the classes, the Mercenary outfit stood out to me the most along with it's promotion into the Hero class, which just seems to add more armor onto the base class. It looks quite simple and not overly fantasy in design, especially when compared to some of the other classes. I wanted to try and recreate the look with some of the reproduction stuff you can buy online but I'm not sure where to look. It doesn't have to be exact, such as with the apparent diamond cross stitch pattern on the sleeves and the outer jacket/coat/vest thing. I can do without the shield and the headband, however, I do wonder about the way the shield is worn on the shoulder like a pauldron. Was that ever done historically or this just another of those "cool factor" moments? The design of the gloves and boots are interesting since they cover up the majority of the forearms and calves, with the addition of metal (I think?) knee pads. They also seem to use a simple arming sword, although, they sometimes use two hands in their attack animations so maybe a hand-and-a-half would be better. Any good budget sword recommendations of the sort? Here's the concept art: Edit: Here's link for a larger image. Here's the generic portrait for mooks along with the Hero promotion for comparison:
