Fate Apocrypha as an anime is pretty decent. Other cool weapons that are shown are Mordred's Clarent and Siegfried's Balmung swords. I recommend starting with Fate Zero if you just want to get into the anime instead of the visual novels and what not. Be wary of genderbends and different takes on history/myths.
As for the lance, a stab wound from that thing would be quite devastating. The flanged cross section would just keep opening the wound as it goes deeper. Against armored foes, a good old smack should keep ring their bell for a follow up. I would like to see a modern take on Gae Bolg, though.

Aloha, everyone. I know that flanged maces were a thing, but I was wondering if something like a flanged spear/lance ever existed historically. It doesn't seem cuts with such a design would follow through, but that issue is moot since it's a thrust-oriented weapon. It also seems it could be quite sturdy with it's cross section. It kind of reminds me of the CS lance head in a way. As a side note, Jeanne/Ruler mostly uses it to bash and smash her enemies rather than stab. I guess it can be thought of as a pole mace with a thrusting tip?

I got around to watching Garden of Sinners/Kara no Kyoukai that Crunchyroll finally uploaded on their site. Coincidence or not, the timing was perfect for me since I was just grinding that same event for the Fate Grand Order mobile game and I really wanted to know more about Shiki. I just finished the 5th film and boy, that left me confused. I'm gonna keep watching though.

I'm trying to come up with something to go with either the visored barbuta helmet or the sugar loaf helmet. Is the short Elias plate comfortable enough even with a thin tunic?

Mytholon also makes a super bad-ass midriff cuirass. It's joined at the shoulders with leather, has straps for pauldrons, and only a single buckle on either side. Super easy to put on, and looks KILLER over chainmail. If you're very tall, it might not be for you...but on my 5'-7'' frame --it works fine. Is that the Elias short breastplate? I'm thinking about getting one from Dark Knight Armoury along with some other stuff. Also, what would you recommend to wear under it? I assume some sort of gambeson but I live in Hawaii where it gets pretty humid so I'm on the fence about that. Don't really need mail armor under it as well, at least not yet. I'm looking at the Mytholon line to see if there's any good tunics that look padded and comfy enough to wear under it. I also noticed a lot of pauldrons I'm looking at require a gorget to be worn when I read the item descriptions. Is it possible attach the pauldrons directly to the breastplate without the use of a gorget?

Oh gods, I remember asking one of my co-workers how heavy she thought a sword would be. I don't remember the exact number but it was something like 50 lbs or so. I told her that swords rarely exceeded 5 lbs and she didn't believe me. She said, "Have you seen the swords in GoT? They're huge something something blah blah." Well, it's a TV show so of course they would make it look exaggerated and dramatic. Those dummies don't even wear helmets.

I've always been interested in Darth Maul's double-bladed one but I realize that I would just end up hitting myself more often. I also remember looking up the different forms of lightsaber combat and I even took a little quiz to see which one suited me. Can't remember which one it was though.

Does anyone have experience with the Hanwei Tinker Great Sword of War? I've thought about getting one. And which site has the best offering?

I actually don't know, I just found it in google images. She doesn't even get much screentime in Heaven's Feel because of Cursed Arm. I would be very interested if they animated Hollow Ataraxia. Fate/Extra Last Encore is supposed to be released in 2018 though so that's something to look forward to.
Edit: After digging around in a reddit post, the gif is from the Hollow Ataraxia opening by Ufotable.

For all you anime fans interested, crunchyroll is doing a sale for their online store. Use coupon code: THANKYOU for 15% off. I'm still wondering what I want to get from them, especially with some of their figures. Decisions, decisions.

The movie adaptation of DOOM with Dwayne Johnson and Karl Urban was enjoyable to me. I also liked all the Transformers movies except the 5th one, The Last Knight. It just felt all over the place and inconsistent with the previous entries. Not to mention the Decepticons were reduced to a joke faction even thought it was nice to see Megatron's new design.

Oh man, I don't know why some of the pictures came out so massive. The blade is 30 inches and the tsuka is 10 inches. It has a geometric yokote as well. I'm not sure if it has o-kissaki or chu-kissaki as I haven't measured it yet. This is because on the request form I originally filled out, I chose o-kissaki along with a brass habaki and seppa. When emailing Van about the sword price, I changed my mind to chu-kissaki and silver habaki and seppa. However, the habaki and seppa are clearly brass. I even noticed this in the photos he emailed me when the sword was finished. I chose to let it slide because I didn't want them to take it apart all over again just to replace the color. Also, the guys at the forge probably only follow the specs that are listed on the request form. The changes I requested over email were minor and easily overlooked.
One complaint I do have is the menuki. I'm sure it's metal (someone clarify which metal it usually is, I'm not sure) but it looks like plastic. It's as if someone just gave it a simple paint job. Or it could have been made hastily, whether it be casting or some other method. The samegawa also looks like it was just painted black but it doesn't seem as obvious. Another complaint I have is the are where the spine of the blade meets the habaki. Facing the spine, on the left side, it's not seated flush with the habaki. A little corner is sticking out.
As for handling, it feels much better than my katana from trueswords. Their sizes and dimensions are close to each other but the trueswords one felt heavier and the sinoswords one felt lighter. One thing to note, I originally requested a cotton/silk ito that was dark red. However, Van told me that they had run out of that color and suggested a leather ito in similar dark red. The leather ito feels nice in the hand and it's wrapped really tight.
Here's the ito and the sageo pictures. The sageo color really fits the black and red theme I was going for.

Fate Apocrypha is kind of iffy for me but I think my favorite scene as of now would definitely be Chiron vs Achilles. No weapons, no special abilities, just an insane brawl. I was thrown off by the next episode's animation, though. Sure, the fighting was intense but it looked so weird. At least we got see Karna basically go supernova. Funny how it was supposed to Red Faction vs Black faction at the start but it ended up totally different.

Order was placed around Oct 2 and the sword arrived at my friend's house on Dec 8. I had it shipped there because I live in an apartment and I didn't want the delivery person to just leave it at the door if no one was home. Pictures will be uploaded later as I am still on my phone. Edit: 12/12/2017; attached images This is the package as it arrived. Just a styrofoam box wrapped in glorious amounts of tape. After tearing at the tape with scissors because I forgot my knife, I realized I could have just cut it along the sides and pull the top off. Welp, left a nice mess in my friend's room. Saya is actually tight and even my friend commented that it seems a bit too tight. You can see him playing the Monster Hunter World beta on PS4 off to the left.

Hmm, I never thought about contacting them for just the saya. I'll try that. As for purchasing another set, that would just leave me with a katana lying out in the open without the saya either way.
