Any one ever experienced these before when reading a story? Or in any other work of fiction? I remember when I first read the Dark Elf Trilogy which was about Drizzt Do'Urden. Back then, I was still young and had no idea that Drizzt was a character in the Forgotten Realms or Dungeons and Dragons. I didn't even know about the series, I just got the book because it was about dark elves or drow. Anyways, I was reading the first part, Homeland, and it was the part during the graduation ceremony or something for drow at the academy. I think it involved the valedictorian or high priestess stripping naked and offered to some demonic creature that was summoned. At first, I thought she was being eaten by the demon because she was screaming. Now I realize it might have been a different kind of feast and a different of screaming . The room they were in was filled with incense and everyone was on the floor in a "tangle of limbs." I read through the book again when I was older and realized "Oh, they're having a drug-induced class orgy. That's kinda hot, I guess." Drizzt is all innocent and confused (maybe more than me) during this whole ordeal, and one of the females grabbed his hand in a pleading way to take her right there. Of course, he refuses and walks out and his older sister Vierna follows him out (I think she's described as being naked or close to it). Cue awkward moment because Vierna is his full-blooded sister, unlike his other half siblings of House Do'urden. Vierna proceeds to scold Drizzt because the woman he refused could have him severely punished and even says that she herself experienced it when she graduated (Drow society was very matriarchal with fanatical worship to some spider goddess.) Another was in Halo: Contact Harvest, which is basically the beginning of the Human-Covenant War and mainly follows Sgt. Avery Johnson's perspective. After reading mostly combat and firefights between human militia and overwhelming alien forces, it caught me off guard. Johnson and a female officer (can't remember her name but she was high ranking) get some private time after escaping the fall of planet Harvest. I had to flip back to the cover to make sure I was reading a Halo novel. The descriptions weren't explicit but it was pretty obvious that they were getting it on .

Hey, wow, "stripping naked", steamy!! But yes, I once read a book with a good sounding historical drama story about a mystic locksmith and suddenly it became a sadomaso story. Cheap historical novels often use such "add ons".

I think there have also been some implied scenes in video games too. I remember the very first WWE Smackdown vs. Raw game had one with Torrie Wilson . Dragon Age is another one that comes to mind but I never played any of the series.

I remember finally getting my hands on a copy of George Orwell's "1984" and discovering a very unexpected level of eroticism... I thought the story was about excessive government control over a populace, not some guy's struggle to not get caught with a lady...

Memories, memories. Freshman in high school I bypassed the Penguin Classics and went to the Cambridge complete translations of Aristophanes, Juvenal and Petronius. Highly recommended. ::)

Anyone recall that magazine, "Heavy Metal?" I don't know if it's still around. I believe there was once a movie on it too, with Sabbath's Mob Rules as a main theme I'm told, never saw it. It was sold as a comic book, pretty innocuous, but there were some blatantly erotic scenes in there. Funny advert once inside, for subscriptions. A guy in a dirty mac asking a magazine stall owner, "Uh... D-do you have any copies of that magazine, Heavy Metal?" The ad screamed, "Shame on you!" That didn't surprise me too much, but what did surprise me was getting a book from the library on the old pulp magazines, it concentrated on the golden age of pulps. It was from the art section, as the book was about illustrations, with detailed descriptions. There was some scorching stuff in there, I wasn't expecting that. Pretty explicit too, I think the censors would never let that stuff through nowadays, it would be restricted to sex shops. There are 2 HM movies. First was a collection of stories from the mag. 2d was one or two developed stories. Don't recall if they were original. HM was actually an americanized French product that was definitely exotic for the period. Only had QC for three years then languished.

I have read a fictional book called the Alchemist's Daughter, let me tell you, there has never been a book that I have wanted to destroy due to how pissed off I was with two of the characters. Basically walked in on her husband and her maid getting it on. Kinda like a mash between Wuthering Heights and Tess of D'Ubervilles.

I just remembered the Lotus War trilogy written by Jay Kristoff. The setting is like a steampunk Feudal Era Japan with mythological beings thrown into the mix and I actually kind of liked it despite negative reviews. There's several non-explicit scenes and one of the characters even pokes fun at human mating behavior.

80s Fantasy surely had its steamy moments... Anyone remembers "The Orphan" by Robert Stallman? Or "World Enough, And Time" by James Kahn? Great books, but boy, those were oddly inspiring for a 12-year-old... Ćo

In my youth I've read a few Gor novels of John Norman. The series started as good fantasy and became a little bit strange after a few books, more and more BDSM stuff (later less unexpected, but more "steamy", you can say).
