As he approached the happy pair, Dannar couldn't help but smile at the lighthearted frolicking of his comrades boy. As he rounded the corner near the smithy, he was greeted with the lightly acrid smell of the coals in the smithy's forge, fire and brimstone, reminding him of the severity of his visit. Dannar was a "half breed" scout for the Imperial Realm, and arguably the best swordsman on this side of the world. Since the downfall of the Realm, little work was available for former soldiers, so many like Dannar find themselves traveling from village to village barely earning a wage by taking "odd" jobs as escorts for wealthy traveling merchants, thugs for hire or any of the other thankless nasty jobs that most within the citizenry would find wholly unsavory. A proud soldier, a good friend, and unfortunately the bearer of bad news. As Dannars shadow rounded the corner, Dal recognized his old friend and greeted him with a warm smile and a casual nod of his head. Being true to his nature he looked his friend dead square in the eyes and said, "we need to talk,....soon."

It's Fable Blades, and what you have there is Aphrodite's regret. That is an early piece i had almost forgotten about. What is the OAL on that one?

yep, very nice indeed. I like seeing members like this that started simply enough, evolve into their own. Great work Brian, you should be quite proud.

Theres a review or two on here, search em out and decide for yourself. But at least for the time being, I'd recommend the Tinkers.

I am so glad that I'm not the only one to never give this idea a passing thought. This has already solved a huge problem for me. What a simple, yet fabulous tool.

Lots of seemingly significant archaelogical finds lately. I'm interested to see what info. this one will yield. Had my hopes up for a while there when they thought they found the tomb of Alexander the Great.

Yep,...Toledo=nothing
as far as the uc museum collection, they are carbon steel for sure, Im thinking that 1075 comes to mind, but am completely unsure what specific steel comprises their blades. The hilt assembly on mine is as firm and tight as can be. I did see the thread that Holg mentioned, and although i'd prefer a different compression setup, and will eventually convert mine, i'm not ready to bump them out of the "battle ready" category. It's not the first blade i'd pick up for battle, but mine has seen the abuse that Avery put the RK medieval line through and has survived those types of sessions 4 times now.

Interesting info, but for me the scary part is finding out that i'm a ninja nerd. Of course Sho Kosugi,.....but iirc wasn't Kurt Thomas(???) the gymnast one of the stars of american ninja? I was like 11 when enter the ninja came out, and was hooked on ninja's for the longest time. .......still havent figured out how to make sho's smoke bombs lol.

L.Driggers (Fallen) has been hammering out langseax by the barrel full lately, and would no doubt tell you what he can i'm sure. Draven is another member of the forum that actually started him on the langseax kick. I'd just kick back and wait for some responses. I think fruitcop(?)collects various seax from different makers and might also have something to share.

I gotta agree with mike on this one. Not that i wanna be the guy to beat the hell out of my swords like this, but to know that they can do what they're designed to do is essential. I had "pretty" SLO's before i learned what swords really should be. That's one of the reasons i don't completely understand some people getting all worked up over light pitting, scuffs and the like. Swords were originally intended to be tools, instruments of war, if you will. I cant remember the last time i bought a hammer or a mattock and checked it for scratches and pits,or even cosidered making a display case and hanging it on my wall. I do understand the whole "collector" thing, but it would almost seem to me that to have a proper sword and not use it is just silly. I have my favorites sure, and i try not to ding/scratch them, but if that means i need to leave them on the wall to simply look at, well i might as well sell them off. Could you imagine a warrior of old showing up on the battlefield with a blade as pristine and pampered as some of ours would be?Kinda like a 10 year old carharrt with no holes, stains etc. As for this test, i must say that it held up better than i ever thought it would. If RK implements a design change for the thread setup, i'd pick one up for sure.
