I feel I must call attention to the fact that this, "sword of omens" has a nameš

To see the actor hes become since is remarkable. The acting in Excalibur. even his, was terrible. I hadn't seen it since it was released and it's been MUCH longer than I realized. I dont think I could sit through it again.

I did recently watch the 80's Excalibur, and it's interesting that Patrick Stewart played the first lord to follow Arthur after drawing the sword from the stone.

I think the overall design is still very cool. With some tweaks to make the construction, shapes and materials closer to historical tachi... oh man, it'd be one helluva beautiful sword. Id love to see your take on the design! Ive always loved the Higlander Katanas. My favorite was Duncan's of course.Im gonna look at point gallery again, as i don't remember the giraffe bone tsuka.I had one as a kid, but plastic handle, wire hamon and 440c. Its since gone to a friends young son. I would UNQUESTIONABLY purchase a high quality replica 5hat was more traditionally made. I see mine in carved american holly, with some accents of gabon ebony and solid sterling fittings. Id probably use some abalone inlay for bands to accent saya fittings and some sort of kanji for decoration too.

This was a rather enjoyable read. I got bit by swords around 12, so the transition from junk to a "worthy" collection has pretty much been a lifetime in the making. That said, had i waited till my thirties to start with rat tail tangs, slo's and pakistani stamped crap like my younger self, i would have quickly tired of the hobby. So long as youre not spending rent money on toys, i applaud your commitment to your whims. You've started with a couple nice pieces, especially for comparison. This place is a wealth of information, and you should have no trouble learning till your heart's content. Just be warned, the scholagladiatoria, skallagrim rabbit hole pales in depth to the Oakshotte,Petersen hole.Im so deep in cultural/warfare history vids.on youtube now its uninteresting to watch anything on cable. Good luck, have fun and be welcome.

Just browsing and happened upon this thread. Sorry for the necro post, but i wanted to add a model to the list. 1446- LPM war sword prototype, not sure of typology, and would love to know. I also have an Atrim XVa prototype without ever having heard of a numeric designation. Id love more info.

Well, im confused as hell now. The Goblin king, orc king, aleutian all have pinned knife handles and knife grinds. The only one of the first batch i would consider is the OrcKingCleaver. I really like the profile of the Aleutian, but those unsightly pins in the pommel are hideous. Too simplistic and lacking in refinement. Harsh plunge lines, pinned hilts, pedestrian wood slabs etc. Theres potential, but these are the reasons i dont own any Scorpion stuff.

I have the rqp suontaka fittings , they're too small for the emsh blade they're mounted to. I couldn't believe how petite they are. I'm only keeping them around for a future dagger project,

I have to give a nod to the cawood Viking sword here as well. The feel of mine in hand is easily the best of the Vikings ive tried in the budget range. Handling is quick with an attentive tip and a well managed balance. The only issue for me with it is the blade has just a little too much flex to make a good thruster. I'll also throw a good word in for the Albion squire line Gotland. It has all the same pros as the Cawood with the added bonus of better balance, fit and finish and rigidity. Its probably gonna run a little over 400, but that's what I got mine for.

You havent specified the type of blade youre onquiring about. 2000 can get you a shinsakuto or modern JAPANESE katana and even some antique japanese blades. 2k in the euro market will get you just about any production sword as well as some customs. Authenticity and investment are gonna be the highlights for japanese swords, while fit, finish and artistic license are the primary highlights for euros. This is a heavily watered down response for the sake of a"nutshell" answer.

AFAIK, as long as youre correct with the date, the pistol you're referring to is considered a curio&relic item, and as such is not classified as a firearm by the BATFE. You should be able to send anywhere, however you like.

I really like this version! I also like the spacer idea as representations of the gates of gondolin.. Spacers could work if you could make them a little thinner, and put the first one between the grip core and the guard as more of a "bolster". Don't forget about the gem settings either, as they were one of the only things specifically mentioned in tolkeins writing. I'd love to see all(or every other) spacer set with jewels around their circumference. It's hard to keep a hilt classy l;ooking without getting all gaudy, but it can be done.
