Someone just bought a Vorpal sword for me as a gift this morning, in fact. It is a stunning sword. I will, however, have Mr. Huerta rewrap the grip when he can.

The old tsuba was pretty cool looking. The new one you put on is even better. Great review!

Great overview of the sword. Not enough gladius makers out there!

This is a very interesting design. I do love me some Cthulhu mythos.

In combating local uprisings and nomadic incursions, one can imagine that this pattern of sword saw much action.

So i took some scotch-brite to the blade YES! I hate it when an otherwise excellent looking blade is covered in some type of blackening. NOOOOOOO

"My wife called James Cook and he said this sword was too expensive ($1,359) for him o accept as a return for refund, and we needed to ship it to the factory in the original carton box."
Hmmm, I'm thinking that's an odd one. I have never heard of an item being too expensive to return. It sounds like they aren't honoring their return policy. Might I suggest using Kult of Athena? They are the gold standard, and I've always had excellent service (even with returns) from them. They also promptly answer emails!

The sword I'm using the tsuba on, is actually a Simon Lee katana also. I'm making the seppa's from antique brass and copper locks from the 1800's... Pictures should be bye weeks end... I can't wait to see that. I actually sold this particular sword, but I still have quite a few of the pieces. Will be using them on another blade!

Soon (tm) - there will be a (semi-mythical) collection thread of my own up where I'll have my customized H/T longsword and bastard posted. They're pretty amazing looking swords for the cost (even counting the customization cost). (Edit: Only semi-mythical not because of its epicness, but semi-mythical because I haven't had the time to just GET IT DONE.) I can't wait to see that! I actually got mine for a steal (189.99), so any customizations go down even smoother.

You won't be disappointed in that case if you're looking for an agile medium cutter. It's incredibly fast for its size. Doesn't handle like an 'actual' Trim or Tinker - but it's also about a fifth of the price. Admittedly I haven't handled more than a dozen production swords, but the H/T line is the best that I've touched. (Edit: Sorry for semi-threadjacking, pattyb. Just helping the new guy get his footing. ) Please, hijack away! I'd never want to prevent my fellow forumites from making someone feel welcome (AND make the best sword purchase choice possible!). We seriously have a great community.
