I recorded the measurements of some of my swords today and wondered if there was any interest in the forum on the information. British Swords: Dutch Swords: French Swords:
Smallswords: Misc: Edit: Added an index, so people don't need to trawl through 6+ pages.

Hello Bas.
Measurements are always welcome. Thanks very much for doing the work on this one. It looks like a really nice Officers sabre. One caveat though: The french had an M1821 Infantry sabre. You have mixed up the Infantry M1821 with the Cavalry M1822.
Cheers.

In that case I will add more as I measure them up. Regrettably it won't be a lot but hopefully of use to some
First one is a Dutch m1852 Jagers Officers sword made by Carl Eickhorn between 1935 and 1941. I believe this style is a copy of the French 1821 infantry sword: Length Over All: | 985 mm | Blade Length: | 845 mm | Curve: | 16 mm | Point of balance: | 125 mm | Sword Weight: | 650 grams | Total Weight:

Dutch m1912 Officers "Wandelsabel" made by Carl Eickhorn from Solingen in the early 1930s. Wandelsabel is a word play on wandelstok or walking stick, but a better translation would be 'strolling sword' as in 'taking a stroll.'

Thanks for the welcome, I was thinking of just adding to this thread as I aquire more. But I can move my posts to that thread (or just link to this one) if people think thats better.
However they'll all be antiques so I won't be pulling them apart like the other posts

Finally a combat sword. As always thanks. I promise that the next four will be combat swords...
On that note, are there any statistics I'm missing? would it be useful to measure the blade width at each of the points I measure it's thickness?

Hi Bas, yes any measurements are useful. I appreciate you not taking apart antiques ! You can start a new post or add it or link it to the Sword Construction Data base. The good thing about the Sword Data Base is that it's stickied so your information is readily available without a search.

Dutch m1813 No. 2 Troopers Sabre:
Marked TT on the backstrap for the Transport Train and 1827 on the quilion which is possibly the date that the sword was refurbished (this matches the year that the Netherlands received a shipment of parts for these sabres) or when it was transferred to a different service brance. The blade appears to be service sharpened.
