Yep, that's what really sold me on one. And here's the dust cover.

That's awesome! And I just noticed the scope mount is on backwards. With a proper "nose on the charging handle" cheek weld that scope is waaaay back.

You guys are hil-ar-ious... Hey Mike, if you do make a Hello Kitty AR, can I get it from you? My wife would love it... big Hello Kitty Fan... Since apparently my AR is not macho enough... I present my SOCOM II

Yeah, that's pretty macho. Here's your man card back...
And here are a couple of my recent builds that are seeing the most use these days.
YAY!!! I got my first (and probably only) snow of the year today!

I think Mike just threw that one up there knowing I hate octopussss railssssss. Do QD mounts work with any of those holes?
congrats on the socom II Sean (have u gotten any brass stuck in the rail yet? lol). I think my biceps shrunk an inch after I sold mine. ~came out to 11.5 lbs with a scope on it. I think I'll wait for the desert tech mdr and decide betw. that and a scar based on weight and ergos.

Hey Sean, Honestly, I think it's great that you customized your AR in a completely non-military sort of way. A lot of people are way too serious about how their guns look. It makes sense if you are military or law enforcement and are actually using your guns for work, but many of us are civilians who will never fire our guns anywhere but on the range of maybe out hunting. I think people should feel free to personalize their stuff however they want (don't know that I would have chosen muppet purple, but hey whatever) ;)

I think people should feel free to personalize their stuff however they want (don't know that I would have chosen muppet purple, but hey whatever) For all the grief I like to give Sean, I totally agree. I LOVE FDE and it's kinda standard across many different companies' products, so that's what a lot of mine have on them. But I'm thinking about doing a hunting/sporting AR that's totally different. I personally don't much care for pink and purple, but I want something that's not black or tan or OD green.
A 3-gun shooting friend of mine (who was a 3-tour US Army sniper in the 82nd in Iraq) has settled on Black and Fire Engine Red for his favorite AR colors. It looks great and doesn't show dirt. But I don't want to copy him. I wonder what red and FDE would look like? Given my "advancing age" and increasing frailty, maybe black and blue would be a good matching color scheme?...

I saw a custom Just Right Carbine coated up like a pile of American Flags... was awesome. I almost bought it, I wish I had, it was just a tad more then my plain Jane black JRC.

Hey Sean, you can get premade wraps for most of that kind of stuff. I like the ones with all the little skulls, but of course they are too overdone now to be very original. I'll bet you could get a sheet of wrap made with your own custom artwork or photograph, that might be interesting. I'm actually pretty fond of the plain black, maybe after I get proficient in their use, I'll pimp one out in some sort of custom paint scheme or wrap.

i love the kryptek stuff and saw wraps for it. not sure on the durability/adherence with gun lube and cleaning. The hydrodipping is a rad process but I don't baby the guns ( i have gun blue on hand to touchup scratches).
would like a cerakote kryptek highlander someday...haven't seen many offer it it would probably break the bank; don't need it but it is so tacticooool

I've done AR's to death lol. I've frankly grown bored with them, but have a KISS build in the works, just so I at least own one (I've sold/traded/never finished all that I'm about to show you, and these are just the one's I've got pictures of lol.)
The most recent complete build. This weapon was my mule- put at least 10,000 rounds through her. Spikes stripped lower with RRA 2stage lower parts kit BCM upper assembly Daniel Defense 16" lightweight profile cold hammer forged barrel with mid length gas system w/ PWS NT4 compatible comp Daniel Defense Omega X 9.0 rail with Magpul rail covers/grip. VTAC Light mount with Surefire G2Z LED Magpul UBR stock and MOE grip. Troy Ind BUIS. It went through various optics- Aimpoint CompM3, Aimpoint T1 Micro, Eotech XPS 3-2, TA31 ACOG. Don't have a single pic with any optics for some reason. Probably because I was too busy shooting lol.

That same lower was also home to an LMT modular upper reciever, though that was short lived as I quickly became unimpressed by the gas piston hype and sold it to some scrub who just HAD to have it lol. This is the only picture I have of said upper. This was at work and the only reason I got it was because of the MASSIVE employee discount on LMT stuff lol. Also seen here is a friend's Aimpoint Micro on a GG&G absolute cowitness mount.

Next up, my insanely expensive pair of NFA KAC sexies. To the left is a KAC SPR MOD 0, shown with the Ops Inc 12th model suppressor. To the right is the KAC 12.5" SBR with extra 11.5" KAC upper w/ their limited edition proprietary modular rail. I don't want to talk about these much because I spent and lost a damn fortune on these, but suffice it to say that they were by far the best AR's I've ever owned.

Here's another mule I bought from a friend- LMT factory rifle with a TA11 ACOG. Simple, ugly, straight to the point.

And since it was from the same range day as the LMT mule, here's a pic of me behind the SPR. The target is a quart sized ziploc bag of tannerite placed in the branches of that tree off in the distance (400m or so). Yes, I was able to hit it after about 7 shots. It was windy as semprini lol.
