Blade should be about 40 inches or so as per my request, I don't have it yet so I can't really make any guesses as to POB, weight, ect, handle should be 10 inches or something like that judging from the overall size of it.

That is a bloody fantastic looking piece. What's the full name of one of these, or are the long two handed versions still just "jian"?
Also, round about how much would that cost? 400USD?

With the folded/dh blade and rayskin-wrapped handle, I'd guess closer to $500...bad-ass sword, by the way!

A two-handed jian is "shuangshou jian." "Shuangshou" just translates roughly to "two-handed" in English. That's a gorgeous jian though. Can I visit? ;D

Kinda like all those forms named "Dan Jian" (Single Sword). They were so creative when it came to naming

How about a Jin-Shi Han? My only regret is I did not get a DH blade. I've had a Jin-Shi Han for quite awhile and I've realized that without a sword collar (habaki,tun-kou), the blade tends to rattle in the scabbard. That is not the worst part: when I sheath the sword too abruptly, the wood scabbard sometimes rubs on the blade, causing some minor scratches. At least now I see the real importance of having a blade collar.

I'm also waiting for my HanJian from Garrett, mine is a DH folded version. I did thought about the scabbard scratching the blade and I did ask Garrett for some sort of Horn material to be used on the scabbard throat, similar fashion to a Japanese saya. But I was told its not possible......... Oh well, I can do that myself once its in my hands

Congrats! I'm still waiting for mine from Garett my first blade had a flaw so they had to start over. just one more good reason to get a jin-shi.... quality control!!! i am very happy with Jinny ( my production jian from jin-shi.) pirate, i am sorry for taking so long getting to this but that is a wonderful looking sword. i remember you told me you was waiting on one. i like the tang jian. i was looking at the one w/ a rosewood handle myself... just too many nice looking swords out lately it's like a kid in an ice cream shop... which flavor do i get first. wish i had enough quarters in my pocket to get a scoop of each... yeah i know showing my age... darned.
