my attempt at a leaf bladed xyphos style blade hand forged from a piece of bar unfortunatly handle a little bit off center wields well, handle wood with leather covering roman dolabra again hand forged from one piece of bar then cut and welded to a hand forged eye poll has a temp handle on it at moment till i get some $ to buy a proper handle for it splits wood and digs up the ground so i guess it works  lastly my version of a dussage cutlass, nicknamed this one "the kraken" mostly because the first time i picked it up after i ground in the notches into the blade i thought of the line from pirates of the Caribbean when jack sparrow sees the kracken "hello beastie", again made from flat bar forge shaped, hand guard is hand wrought, scallop is repoussed stainless steel, pommel is aluminum handle is hardwood, makes you fell like the badest mother in the world holding this thing. swear if some one was coming a cross a ship deck holding one of these i would throw down my arms and quit on the spot definitely one of my faves so far

started on a bollock dagger this week got handle shaped, stained, sealed made from non structural pinus  (couldnt resist bad pun) blade made from steel bracket with a coach both welded into the blade to attach the blade to the handle, decided to base it around a later scotish dirk style a) because my family is originally from scotland and b) because i have big hands and the handle is quite large and thought the later stiletto style blade would have looked silly or out of place. still have to finish grinding and polishing the blade but so far really happy with how its coming along. guy i know asked me to make him a pole axe based around one his character uses in a game this it what i came up with sent him a pic was stoked with the look, currently mounted on display shaft but cuts well (tested it on 2 ltr bottle no probs), couple of the welds could have been neater but its a learnin process and a vast improvement on the first one i made. made from bisaloy steel (axe blade), random bit of flat/toothed bar for the hammer and a rail dog for the spike. quote="Saito"]Swedge? what is swedge?[/quote] swept edge (on back) or from urban dictionary swedge A faux double edge on the blade of a knife. Excellent for reducing the weight of the blade and balancing. The swedge on many knives can be sharpened for a double edge. It usually only runs 1/4 to 1/2 of the blade length but this is plenty to give the knife the benefits of a double edge. Sharpening the swedge of my knife into a double edge gave my stiletto blade the agility it needs to slice the corneas of random homeless people.

like the grip not a fan of the elongated swedge though, but still a nice knife, personally think rivets would ruin the look as it wouldnt match the handle, could potentially attach it with fiberglass resin that would stand up to pretty much any normal knife abuse

look forward to seeing the results of this, was thinking that because most bottles are thermoplastic hot water might make em springier thus harder to cut

was wondering if anyone has looked into whether it is easier or harder to cut bottles filled with hot water or cold water.i would imagine that hot water would make for an easier cut as the plastic would be more pliable, any thoughts?

had this one floating around the back brain for a whilefinally got skill set to do what i wanted, its my interpretation of a druids sword from fantasy games/movies made from a piece of curved bar stock, cross guard is hand forged from piece of round bar, the rose is stainless steel sheet, the grip is wood core wrapped in leather thorn pattern then covered in vinyl to give the effect of vine wrapping around the handlenot a bad cutter but bit weird due to extreme curve in blade but cuts well
