started on a ball style mace yesterday, hand forged two hemispheres for the ball from flat 1.2 mm mild steel then welded em together, added a shaft for the handle to go into, and gave it a coat of black paint as i planed on threading in polished steel spikes, here it isside profile i know its not really a ball but trying to forge out a perfect sphere by hand with no heat is ridonkulously hard top view, im gonna change the shaft to a smaller steel one, if i go ahead, so do i finish this or scrap it and move on? got started on my second winged spear ever, this one is made from a mower blade for the spear blade, flat steel for the socket and off cut steel for the wings, still got to clean it up alot, funny thing is during initial clean up found a serial number stamped into the spear blade thinking of leaving it there as a talking point  , will post more pics once finished with this one, also could anyone help out with the shaft length on a spear of this type? this started out as a kerambit, but i realised when you scale it up to fit my hands the things is huge , so i discarded it, then decided to change tack and make it into lobos chain hook, this is lobo for those who dont know its all steel construction with rubber grips, chain is bolted then hot peened into the swivel attaching the chain, wicked weapon just not sure how i would go swinging it by the chain  Attachments:

did some more work on some of these ground edges on chain hook redifened the multiple fullers on the "bearded dragon" and decided on a handle wrap, also bolted the chain swivel on the lobo hook and then hot peened it for extra security, now i just have to finish polish on chain hook and "bearded dragon" and they are done, also clipped the wings of my spear so they are more proportional and welded that all together, chain hook seems like dangerous piece  Attachments:

thanks they are encased in solid resin but whole pommel is not solid resin they are two disks glued into the pommel spare disks, made em using a variation of this tech simply put a paper logo in the middle do plan on having a go at a solid resin pommel but wasnt sure what i was doing so thought i would start out simple, i used "diggers casting resin" for the pommel, this stuff if you meant the handle wrap, used this combined with www.sablade.com/forums/showthrea ... decided to have a go at making my own micarta and doing some resin encasements, because i hadnt tried that yet, so made a falchion style blade to play with, then wrapped the handle in jute/Hessian micarta , and made a resin insert (with my version of the zombie outbreak response team logo) to go into the pommel, this is what i ended up with definitely plan on having another go at micarta works great Attachments:
