Sounds like a great idea. And if I also might suggest it, if you and John make your bare blades and his fittings in this line separately available, it'd give another price point that would very much interest those of us who like to customize our stuff. Bare blades have always been an option from me, even custom request. can maybe look into the fittings in the future too.

I've been talking to the infamous John Greybeard about doing a line of Bronze hilted swords with me and we've discussed the first batch I'd like to offer.
In the past my "legendary Edition" Elvish sabers with pattern weld fittings sold for around 2500 which is admittedly too expensive for most people.
It was unavoidable as those swords were costing me way too much to make and took way too long because i had to collaborate with and pay several people just to get hilt parts squared away.
So the idea is to cut all the middlemen and all the BS and I'll offer small batches of different designs of my popular swords complete with bronze fittings from John, at a Significantly more affordable price.
The goal is to aim for a final cost of 1500+ shipping, which is pretty on par with Albion and Valiant Armory ext.
In order to keep them affordable like this, I need to get a minimum of 10 Hilt sets from john for it to be worth his time and effort as well, which means I need at least 1 person to
commit to commissioning one to cover the cost of the batch of fittings.
You will have options on blade and handle length, grip wrap color ext, just like any other custom sword. We can also make other minor tweaks to the blade profiles as well to tailor each sword to you.
If anyone wants to jump on board hit me up.
Pics of my previous one below, just imagine it with beautiful bronze fittings instead of the steel shown in pic.

This is why i don't take money above bare minimum material cost until peoples stuff is finished. Of the many times I bought or commissioned from LWF, he was also always prompt in communications, honest about timelines and work capacity, and over-delivered; often ahead of schedule. Outstanding work, too. I’ve had other makers that ran into serious life issues that drastically delayed delivery. So long as they kept me reasonably updated and were honest about things, even a very long delay was not a problem. I agree with LN’s sentiment: commission the maker (though I’m not really a Rolex fan - lol.) I’m grateful to be part of this community, and for this forum that preserves our experiences more-or-less indefinitely.
i think almost all Full time makers are one bad day away from defaulting on work. Car breakdown, house appliance failure, equipment failure ext. is all it takes to leave you broke and unable to continue.
