No, the ninja-to is not a historical weapon.
It looks like they are testing the defenses more throughly...which I think is why the spartan did so well. The viking vs samurai was pure farce because they did so little defensive testing that it wasn´t even funny. They just assumed the samurai armor was better...and it looks they they pretty much ignored that the katana was completely nullified by chain in the results. I wanna see more defensive testing instead of just hitting the ballistic dummy. Just about anything can be deadly to a naked person holding still. Also for accuracy tests, I think they need moving targets...like in a real fight.

yes but the samurai used speed and tactic to kill the viking, he spun behind him and slashed his unprtected legs, bringing him down then giving the killing blow

Yep, its not a real manuveur unless you spin on your feet exposing your back ........ you fool them into thinking your shoulderblade much attack ............... please .......... The series needs some fine tuning, maybe next series they have some more different types plus having winner vs winner like Viking vs Spartan, Apache vs Samurai ........... oh whatever ........ I like watching this but jeez asking for historical accuracy is like asking for a 2 minute wait everytime you go to the D.M.V/department of transport (as per your country) ........ SPARTAN SPEAR ...... TIPPED WITH IRON!!!! ........... NNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BBBBBRRRROOOONNNZZZZZEEEEEE ........ although it was a Windlass he he

Okay just had to pause that episode to comment. In in "simulated fight" in the last bit, when the spartan starts his spear is tipped with a Windlass Viking Spear, then it cuts to sneaky ninja then back and "TA DA!!!! the magic of continuity" he has a spear with a Windlass Greek Spear head ........ wow .......... I dont know if I'm getting turned off by this now ......... nothing else to watch though thats the problem ........

*grins* Well, what can I say? The right man won. SPARTA!
My only thing is I wish they would have appliedthe same methodology they used when testing the spartan shield when they tested the viking shield. It would have been far more effective than the watery preformance it had.
That being said, I'm supised the spartan didn't get some help killing the ninja.
We all know the samurai was still in there.

This show is OK. I like the simulated battle in the end, and I think the show needs to show more of that. I agree whole heartedly with Cold Napalm on the last page, all the attacks on the ballistics dummy are fine and dandy, but that's testing the effectiveness of the weapon on a DUMMY! Also, the obviously scripted banter between the two rival teams is really bad and unbecoming of the spirit of what these folks are standing for, whether they like it or not. If you guys like this show, I HIGHLY recommend "Warriors" on the History Channel. It's an indepth look at the weapons and tactics of a different group each week, as told by a combat expert. This week ws the Crusaders, past shows have been Knights, Samurai, and the Mayans. It's a new show, so, more to come. But even with my little complaints about Deadliest Warrior, I'm grateful it's there. You have to realize, we're the demographic for shows like this! I'm happy they've got shows like this out there for us. One day I'd love to be one of the "experts" they bring in or interview. (Edit for grammar)

You should go to the Spike t.v. web site and read the Deadliest Warrior message board, people get crazy on there.

This is catastrophic... Pirates blow. Especially butt ones. I guess its time for you to die then. EDIT: But yeah, not unexpected, pirates are histories greatest warriors. Also, Max Geiger is one of those guys I would hang out with irl.

This show is OK. I like the simulated battle in the end, and I think the show needs to show more of that. Thats funny... the little simulated battle at the end is my least favorite part of the show, and thats saying something. It's pointless... and silly. It does not show the effectiveness of any of the true techniques the warriors of subject would use... it's just a bit of theater at the end to tye the whole thing together. I could do without it.

Was it just me or was the spartan using a viking spear ........ he he its a bit like that, really all this show is a cheap watch, bit like the simpsons, good to watch, but you wouldnt forgo much just to catch it ......... and I think deep down these hosts are hearing the fans, but most of these episodes from the opening credits have been done already so they can probably edit only so far .......... and the spike producers going ........ "NO DUDE MORE TRASH TALK IT SELLS EVERYTHING!!!!" ......... hurr hurr hurr he got diss'ed ............ ooooohhhhh well
