Thanks Sean- I try to maintain but I'm noticing that its getting harder and harder to get in the gym and easier and easier to make excuses NOT to go....and I'm with you, I wish too.
In the books, Aragorn was already 100 before he ascended the throne in the White City. Would that I could have half of his hardiness at 50!!!
Jonathan, funny you should say so, I've always felt that you are what you envision yourself to be; whether it is a protector, advisor, facilitator, whatever...the Rangers of the North held a thankless post that they gave their lives to see it done; even tho no one knew or appreciated what they did, they did it nonetheless because for them, the job was all.
I'm dumbing the sentiment down but I think you know what I'm getting at. I think its safe to say a good many of us here on this board would've made good rangers, if only because we seem to espouse a singular ideal that sorta ties in nicely with all the other stuff. Any man who takes a sword in hand, seriously, w/out the tomfoolery mostly associated with youth (no offense intended or meant), is a different sort of person than your average run of the mill citizen, in my opinion.

I believe that we become something far older than most things modern. In a sense, we are the warriors that our forefathers were. I say "we" because soon I will have a sword of my own. There are few people now that understand this concept.

I'm offended! ;D I agree, I think it's a mind set that the world as a whole is sadly losing. I would not be at all be surprised if most of the people on this board still open doors for ladies. Offer to take shopping carts back for Moms. Stop and help a stranded motorist. And on and on.....

I was corrupted by a Boy Scout Handbook at an impressionable age.
