It was a good feeling to get Biontech but I'd have taken AZ also. For women in their 20's/30's not the best choice but for us old male farts no problemo I think. Well... THANK YOU! Holger is an old fart - not me! I just turned 51...

I'm getting the J&J jab later today. Don't really want it, but I've got to go to Germany next month and the vaccine document is the new passport. I'll let you know if I grow a second nose or something. Hopefully I can finally get my superpowers...

So, I had covid like 2 months ago. It wasn't pleasant but it was not a big deal.
I just got the first Pfizer shot yesterday. I did not want to, but I am a professor and our school is planning to collect our vaccination info and forbid us to remove our masks if we don't have the vaccine.
I must say, I kind of recommend getting covid over getting the shot. Although covid lasted longer, this was equally unpleasant*, AND my arm was very, very sore. I slept a total of 45 minutes last night, was exhausted all day, felt nauseous, and now my back hurts (this is not normal for me at all).
My wife said that insisting on going for a run in the heat probably didn't help. But what does she know?
Second round comes on June 10.
*Also, I don't want to stir up controversy, but I'm a math professor, and from the data I can see, covid is less dangerous than the flu unless you have severe health problems beforehand or you are in the 65+ category. So tbh I've been in the 'meh' category about it from the start, which is another reason I had no desire to get the shot.

And since you had Covid two months back, seems you would have antibody protection. Looks like your job requires it but if I had Covid two months ago I probably would not have gotten the J&J, at least until the end of the year or so, unless underlying conditions and/or advancing age.

I've seen severe shivering attacks without fever on both of my parents (had nothing to do with a vaccination). Looked really dramatically, but wasn't. An immune reaction that keeps a infection down without other effects. I guess that may happen after a vaccination too. First time I called the doc, who said he should take Ibuprofen or Paracetamol, which helped indeed. Of course in doubt call a doc.

Consult with your Emergency Medical Service by whatever name they go by. Keep us advised. All is fine so far; night was with shakes and mild fever. We just went to do our weekly basic shopping (food & stuff); he is a little weak on the feet and feels sick (aka "i could vomit"), but nothing too dramatic. Some headache and the arm hurts, so another Ibu bombing!

We go and tell the family of our two dead friends (both mid 40ies, no "history") that it is no big deal. Its no worse than the flu, sure thing. 588000 death in you country and then posts like this.

There is literally no reason to make this comment other than to stir up controversy. The scientific consensus disagrees with your statement.
You need to cease with the sheisse stirring. The SBG message boards are not the place for sharing crackpot conspiracy theories.
This is an official warning.

These are some harsh words, Zen_Hydra. No need to be so rude. Imo, you are not doing a good job moderating here. Also there is no consensus, just blatant power.

Sad to say DD, there are a lot of " meh " people out there. When I asked a nearby neighbor of mine if he'd gotten vaccinated his response, of ALL the things he could've said, was " I'm not a sheep. "

Btw, my second shot was 2 weeks ago and in retrospect I was a bit tired the whole first week, but less than after my first shot. Now I feel indestructable except my hurting left knee.

Lots of them in Germany too - but not as many as they wish! And we absolutely ran out of patience with those creeps!
