**DO NOT TRAVEL FURTHER IN THIS THREAD IF YOU WISH TO AVOID SPOILERS**
**YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED**
Here we are, at the end of a VERY long and tiring journey. The final season. I just can't contemplate how things are going to end! I've been theorizing and thinking about the finality of GoT forever but it's actually here now.
We've had two episodes without any major losses, but I have a feeling this Sunday that's going to change. I don't think I'm ready to see any of my favorite characters die.

Many still have pivotal roles to play so let's guess who can kick the bucket this early.
My list is as follows: Jorah Mormont, Podrick Payne, Lady Mormont, Varys, Grey Worm or Missandei.
I also think Jaqen H'ghar will also make a appearance and be killed by Arya.

I keep thinking that at some point Jaime will die, Arya will steal his face and proceed to murder Cersei.
I also think that Bran's going to die fairly soon, I'm convinced the Night King and the Three Eyed Rave have...history, and that the Night King really needs those powers for its plans
I don't see the crypt in Winterfell being a nice place either...have a hunch the dead will rise, would be nice if it was against the walkers, but then again, this isn't how things work on Game of Thrones
I also think not all of the dead are coming for Winterfell. Perhaps the attack on Winterfell is a ruse, and the Night King is already heading off to see the Lannister, the wonderful Lannister of Oz.
I wonder what the hell else the magical creeps like Melissandre are up to...wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if she ends up being some sort of hidden antagonist.

So, who's up for a game?
Let's post our end predictions here before Sunday's episode and see who comes gets it the closest.

I wonder what the hell else the magical creeps like Melissandre are up to...wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if she ends up being some sort of hidden antagonist. I think a mortally wounded Jaime will be the one to kill Cersei. I think that if Bran dies before the end, he will have warged into something/someone else before his body dies. His role in destroying the Night King is kind of set in stone. If the Stark catacombs become a deathtrap do to the raising of the generations of Stark dead, I will be very disappointed. 1.) The tradition in the North is to cremate the dead, and we have seen no evidence that the Night King can do anything with cremains. 2.) There are a lot of very smart people in Winterfell as of the second episode of the final season, and it is well known that the Night King is raising the dead. There is no excuse for so many intelligent characters to not make such a simple deduction. The Night King's white-walker generals are each capable of sustaining and commanding many wights on their own. We have seen this connection (and the results of breaking this connection) on screen. It's unclear to me if the white-walkers are able to raise the dead on their own, or if only the Night King can perform this feat. The Night King now has a flying dragon asset which he could use to swiftly travel between multiple fronts. If I were the Night King, I would play the long game and crush Westeros through attrition. Winter is moving South with the Night King and his army. His army doesn't require the logistical support that a living army does. Every fallen enemy can be turned into an ally, and every dead civilian can be turned into a soldier. All the Night King needs to do is slowly creep Southward while building his army of the dead, and choking out potential resources from the living (icy soil produces no food). The only hope that the adversaries of the Night King would have is for them to auger the Night King's location (see: 3-Eyed Raven), and launch a suicide commando raid to assassinate him in hopes that cutting off the head ends the threat (this would be where the dragons and badass warriors make the most difference in the war). I don't think the show will have the Night King make it to King's Landing. Melissandre is a religious fanatic who has had her faith badly shaken. She still fights for R'hllor and the living, and she always has. She believed the ends justified the means, however terrible the price to be paid, it was less than the cost of letting the Night King win. Melissande will certainly die soon, but she may have some final way to strike out at the forces of darkness. I can see her going out in a literal blaze of glory.

Here it is, my ending predictions for GoT.
We’ll start at the upcoming siege of Winterfell. I believe we’re going to lose Sansa, Theon, Beric, Brienne, and Tormund. Sansa will die in the great hall of Winterfell sitting on the throne of winter, a true Stark death. Tormund will die when they breach the wall, most likely at the hands of a white walker and not a wright. Brienne will die with honor on the field defending Winterfell, with Jamie urging her to retreat as the battle is lost. She won’t and will stand her ground and die fighting. Beric will also be among those lost in the initial siege. He’s tired of living anyway.
Once the wall and gates come down, they’ll swarm in and quickly overtake the courtyard. Theon will die defending Bran as Arya brings him to the crypts, where Gilly and little Sam and the other women and children of Winterfell are hiding. Arya will find the secret exit and lead the people out of Winterfell before the White Walkers find the rest of the living. This is where I believe we might also lose the hound. If he dies here, it’ll be defending Arya and covering her retreat.
Meanwhile, Dani and Jon, once it’s clear that they can’t win, will make a tactical retreat to preserve any troops they have left. The remnants of the brotherhood and the knights of the vale, along with any northern men that have survived, will follow Jon, while the Dothraki and the rest of her forces will follow Dani. They will split but not before Rhaegal refuses to follow her, having bonded with Jon. They’ll divide their forces in this way to make it harder to pursue them. They’ll meet up at either the vale or more likely, the twins, where they’ll knock down the bridge of the crossing and regroup at the old seat of the Freys. The night king will be effectively cut off from crossing the trident and have to divert his army, buying time for the army of the living.
The next battle won’t be between the night king and the army of the living. Dani, having not only found out her love interest actually was her nephew and had a stronger claim to the throne than she does, but he even took a dragon. It won’t matter that Jon has no interest in the throne and the dragon chose him, he’s now a threat in the eyes of someone that has based her whole existence on reclaiming the throne. She’ll finally succumb to her Targaryen tendencies she’s displayed before and declare that Jon and the north bend the knee or die in fire. Jon will be forced to defend the north and the remnants of his family. In this way history will repeat itself and we’ll have the second “dance of dragons”. Jon will kill Dani on the field as she’ll give him no choice. Both Dragon will die and the majority of Dani’s forces as well. The army of the living will no longer be able to defeat the night king as its numbers will be halved. This fulfills the last prophesy for Dani, that’ll she’ll be betrayed by love.
I think Varys will also die at this point, being executed by Dani for defying her orders to kill the northerners. Tyrion and Jamie will flee with the remaining Northmen under Jon’s banner and head south, for better or worse. Meanwhile, Arya will have taken the survivors of Winterfell to a safe place away from the fighting, but she will leave them and head south to join her brother, with Bran in tow.
Arya and Bran will catch up with Jon. Jorah will also show up at this point, having survived the “battle of the twins” and ask to be able to fight for the living. As the march, trying to keep ahead of the night king’s army who have made it across the trident, they’ll run in to the golden company and the Lannister army. Trapped, John decides it’s better to engage the golden company instead of waiting for them and the army of the dead to hem them in on both sides. Outnumbered, they move to fight, but the night king will move much faster than expected and both forces will be forced to fight the army of the dead. Jon’s forces will be all but spent at the end of the fighting and he, Tyrion, Jamie, and Ser Davos will be taken in chains to kings landing to await the Queens justice. Little do they know, there’s a spy wearing a Lannister face.
Finally, we come to the end.
The prisoners will be brought before Cersei, who will of course not immediately kill them as she wants to gloat. Harry Strickland, the leader of the golden company, will inform Cersei that the army of the dead and winter are right at their heels, and he didn’t sign up for this. He’ll take his leave and promptly get on his ships and head right back to Essos. Cersei will be outraged, but lacking the numbers to do anything about it, she’ll let him go. That’s when we’ll see Bronn enter with the crossbow. She’ll command Bronn to execute Jamie and Tyrion. He’ll raise the crossbow and point at Tyrion, and the horns will sound. Winter has come to kings landing. She’ll order they be brought to the cells while her and Qyburn get her actual plan for defeating the night king ready, wildfire. Cersei and her remaining forces will wreak havoc on the night kings army, decimating his numbers. The night king will not retreat because his mark is there, Arya has smuggled Bran in to Kings landing. Not only that, She’s also wearing the face of a Lannister guard. She sets about freeing her brother/uncle and the rest of the prisoners. Finally, the night king will breach the walls. Cersei, refusing to lose, will burn the whole city down, inhabitants and all, denying the night king any reinforcements in the way of wrights.
The last stand will be in the throne room. Tyrion will stand and prepare to fight, but will be knocked out by Bronn, who takes him and carries him away. It’ll be Jamie and Jon facing the night king. When the doors come down Jamie and Jon make short work of the White walkers, the night king will be a different story though. Jon will die first at his hands. Left alone, Jamie fights on, but unbeknownst to him, Bran is in a struggle of wills with the NK. Bran weakens him long enough for Jamie to deal the killing blow, but not before he’s also dealt a mortal wound.
Left alone, Cersei will stay on the throne, but she’ll rule over the ashes, fulfilling Tyrion’s curse that “everything she loves will turn to ashes in her mouth”. She’ll be called from that point on the “queen of the ashes” as kings landing lies in ruins and pretty much all of her subjects are dead. She’ll also lack the numbers to enforce any kind of rule over the land. Left alone to dance with her ghosts, like Jenny of Oldstone.
Bronn will ride off towards casterly rock with a now awake Tyrion, now lord of the rock and the last remaining Lannister. The only survivors are Bronn, Tyrion, Arya, and Bran. Bran and Arya head north to rebuild Winterfell.
And that’s my end prediction.

I have a difficult time reckoning the fall of Winterfell in the upcoming episode. The dragons can only hold so many characters, and no one is going to outpace the dead. There is no convenient lake to escape to like there was at Hard Home. If their is a secret way out through the catacombs, it will need to exit far from the keep and any exodus on the ground will have to preclude Bran. Not so much because he is a cripple, but because he is a psychic lode-stone the Night King is inexorably drawn to. If he fled by any means other than by dragon, anyone in his company will be run down. Also, if there is an escape attempt by those in the catacombs there will need to be another Hold The Door sacrifice. Maybe Melissandre uses the last of her fire magic to collapse the tunnels and close the way. I don't think Sansa dies. At all. I think reborn hard Sansa will be the Queen in the North, and help rebuild in the epilogue. We know that one of George Martin's core concepts going into this saga was subverting expectations, and turning traditional fantasy trope on their heads. Sansa spent so many seasons/books being a silly & naive girl, who many hated because of her chronic weakness and whingeing. Here at the end she has finally grown up, and has transformed to iron and ice. She is now the quintessential Stark. If only one Stark remains at the end, my money is on it being Sansa. Again because this story is about subverting expectation, I think Brienne will survive. The show-runners know that a large section of the audience is savvy enough to expect Brienne to die after what we saw in Episode 2, and I think that trope is so obvious that they will use it as a pivot and kill someone(s) unexpected instead. I think Brienne is well suited to surviving to the end as a veteran and witness to what has transpired. As upset as she might be, Daenerys is neither an idiot, nor unthinkingly rash. The real threat is the Night King, and he must be destroyed before sorting out little problems like successorship. Dany might ultimately die by the end of the series, but I can't imagine it being because she took a heel turn and Jon was forced to perforate her. I think Varys will die in the same circumstances as Melissandre, as was alluded to previously in the show. "Three children for you. Gold shall be their crowns and gold their shrouds. And when your tears have drowned you, the valonqar shall wrap his hands about your pale white throat and choke the life from you."As I previously mentioned, I believe that Jaime will kill Cersei and complete Maggy the Frog's prophecy ( valonqar means little brother, and Cersei was the first-born twin). I'm not sure if Margaery fulfilled the part of the prophesy where Cersei loses all she holds dear to a younger, prettier queen. If not, then it would seem Dany or Sansa are the likely candidates to do that. It would be a shame if we didn't have the much vaunted Clegane-Bowl, I can see a scenario where Arya tries to assassinate Cersei, but the thing that was Gregor Clegane intercedes and comes close to killing Arya before the Hound swoops in to save her, and redeem himself in her eyes by nobly sacrificing his life for her. I think the threat of the Night King is stopped before the last couple of episodes, but Jon may die (again) in the undertaking. The alliance of the living will triumph, but at great cost. The final battle will be between the remnants of the alliance and Cersei's forces. The fighting will be fearsome, but the allies will conclusively crush Cersei's army. Dany will take the Iron Throne, and Cersei will have finally lost everything she holds dear. Beaten, Cersei will try something awful and treacherous (maybe murdering Tyrion), and Jaime will strangle her for it. The cost of victory will have been truly Pyrrhic, and many of the protagonists will have died achieving it.

Yup, I see all this as extremely plausible. I doubt that there's a hidden tunnel, and that the Night King ends up being defeated prior to King's Landing. I anticipate King's Landing being the final showdown for the throne, a pyrrhic struggle indeed as too many people will bite the dust in the oncoming fight.
I think the bit with Cersei and the wildfire may end up being a thing, and that will remind Jaime of the king he slayed so he ends up becoming a queen slayer (logical career choice). I still think it might be possible for Arya to face swap a dead Jaime and kill Cersei, but that depends on whether or not Jaime bites the dust fighting the night king.
I still think that the Night King will ultimately be defeated due to some hocus pocus warging with Bran that sort of short circuits him, so they both end up dying.
I think it's possible for Sansa to end up being queen if Danny bites the dust, Jon survives and is bitter enough about everything where he cedes the title to Sansa, since she's arguably the best monarch material (aside from perhaps Danny). I don't think Danny will fight Jon over something as silly as succession given their love angle and her fear of the living dead. If Danny ends up dying it will be a sudden tragedy, perhaps thanks to Cersei.
Oh, and Bronn uses that crossbow to save Tyrion, who ends up ceding Casterly Rock to him. That'd be a fun ending for Bronn, he finally gets his castle.
Good catch on the cremation tradition-crypt sounds pretty nice and quiet all of a sudden. Unless somehow the Night King can summon ghosts by some unseen plot device. Would also be kind of cool if Melisandre's last magic trick, which she executes at the cost of her own life, would be to summon the stark spectres to fight the white walkers, a la the army of the dead in Return of the King.
Really, really looking forward to Sunday given last week's set-up. That spear Arya has is so cool, it'd be awesome if she earns the title 'Dragonslayer'.

My first post here--appropriate, since GOT is probably why the sword bug bit me after a dozen years' absence. Big question in my mind: as vulnerable as the army of the dead would be to the Night King's demise, it doesn't make sense for him to risk all getting involved in the fighting early on, dragonback or not. UNLESS he has to be close by to keep his army "lively" or there is some other pressing reason for him to risk his frosty hide rather than wait out what appears to be inevitable, given the odds. I agree with the prediction circulating on the Internet that, if he fights, he may head down to King Landing rather than risk facing off against two dragons at Winterfell--if indeed Jon and Daeny plan to defend the North in this battle. How long does it take to fly from Winterfell to KL anyway? Or, instead of them both heading south, might one of them (Daenerys) decide to do so while the other (Jon) stays north?
I predict a long, drawn out battle or battles Sunday night(it'll be Monday night for me, prior obligation.) Hated and beloved characters alike will die, rise in various ways, die again--or not--and the earth shattering end will be the death of the Night King. Then, in the three episodes we have left, Westeros has to sort out who's left and who rules what. Daeny and Jon will get married, have a bunch of little Targaryans and rule the Five Kingdoms. A Red God-resurrected Ned Stark will take over the reins of Winterfell from a grateful Sansa. Yara will come up with an appropriately appalling end to Euron and set about establishing a series of vo-tech schools in the Iron Islands to teach the former pillagers, reivers and rapists such trades as HVAC, plumbing and welding so that they can help rebuild all the destruction that is sure to unfold in KL. Both the North and the Iron Islands will sign agreements with D and J to be BFFs with the Five. And finally, Rhaegal will switch from being a he to a she--as dragons are wont to do--and the last scene will be her sitting on a clutch of dragon eggs with Daeny looking fondly on...

Yes, I agree Bran will warg in some way to defeat the night king. I think he's the key to defeating him.

Epic. An orgasm for the eyes, but you have to watch carefully as things are moving quick in the cold, dark night. I imagined both the body count and the level/type of main character demise, but I didn't see that ending coming.

Yeah, thought that ending would have come, well, at the end of the season. Lots of activity in the foggy dark, huh. I imagine future battles will take place in the blessed light of the day.

Did we just witness the best hour of television in history? No, but we may well have witnessed the best hour and 20 some odd minutes in TV history. Kidding aside, if that didn't entertain a person, then he/she would have to be more dead than the undead zombie hoards.
