The poll was targeted for this subsection, so yes, medieval and viking. The poll question regards swords you have bought, not what you retain. It is an anonymous poll but a list is welcome I guess. It is simply to help define from whom one may buy from. The list could be endless but one can see from the results, Windlass has sold to many buyers, as has all the CAS/Hanwei swords. The two other categories combined do outnumber those two and any are welcome to do a roll call/head count of other producers and their patrons.
In other news, there have been only near two hundred participants in three years. Sort of a roll call in and of itself but you can see by the numbers, there are lurkers.
Cheers GC

So a breakdown by producers and voters. As of July 5,2021, % of voters by their buys.
24.6% of the voters have bought from Del Tin 37.1% of the voters have bought from Valiant 26.1% of the voters have bought from Darksword Armory 63.8% of the voters have bought from Windlass 64.3% of the voters have bought from CAS/Hanwei (all subsidiaries) 44.7% of the voters have bought From Albion 24.1% of the voters have bought from Arms&Armor 49.9% of the voters have bought from the first "others" category. 41.2% of the voters have bought from custom makers 23.1% of the voters have bought from a less defined "other" producer.
To put the two "other" categories in perspective added together, the votes account for 73% of the voters have bought from the other producers not listed.
I would define custom makers as those fulfilling commissions of less than production numbers. There is a fine line in there but if we lumped all the "others" along with the custom buys, there would be more than 100% of the voters having bought from that block of possibility.

Now 200. The numbers in the last post reflected 199 but you get the idea.
Windlass and CAS/Hanwei now both with 128 patrons. If we broke down the CAS/Hanwei family of swords, Windlass would have the high score for patrons.

Up for the newcomers..
Again this can be completely anonymous, or share your stuff. This is in this subforum to regard medieval and viking buys. I would add that this is not limited to swords but timeline and geography counts.

I am not sure. They were all cheap pieces of metal and plastic from various fake sword makers and sellers. I would not buy them again. Shoddy work and they looked nothing like their photographs. Caveat emptor. (If I spelled it correctly.)

Well, we've added a baker's dozen of new participants this past summer. Don't forget that you can update this poll forever.

Speaking of scary, I’m thinking about buying a sword by DSA.

Speaking of scary, I’m thinking about buying a sword by DSA. Even Matt Easton has given some favorable comments but the ethics remain.

was there ever a parallel thread to discuss dealers/vendors?
As an example, the companies like Viking-Shield or KoA?

was there ever a parallel thread to discuss dealers/vendors? As an example, the companies like Viking-Shield or KoA? In what context? General vendor feedback? Rating vendors? Start a poll listing all the vendors one might found in this thread (you can see where that will be cumbersome. sbg-sword-forum.forums.net/thread/39502/vendor-sword-list-types-countriesOr simply add thought to that vendor list thread. Or start a thread of whatever you might conceive. The possibilities are endless.

A place where people listed favorite dealers perhaps? Hearing about good dealers is a good way to check out new sources. As an example, until I saw the "for sale" thread on the Albion Clontarf, I never knew about the Squire Line Viking Sword varieties made for Viking Shield. And never knew there is a Viking supplies dealer less that 10 miles from where I live.
I'll give some thought on how I want to phrase the topic and start something new in the next few days.

There is a cyclical learning curve.
