Are there reliable sources for actual good strong anime swords? Something that's not a wallhanger and can stand up to serious use.

I've been wondering about them. I can't find reviews. Was there a certain one you were looking for?

As far as anime swords go I'd really love to get a naginata blade and make myself a ko tessaiga.
Really though if there's any production Mugen swords that don't suck I'll love the person who posts the link forever.

You might be able to get a Kris cutlery bare blade and get one of the guys on this forum to make your fittings.

Yeah I would use a naginata blade for Inuyashas sword. I'd really love a hanwei naginata bare blade, I like the design and hamon on those.

If you made a full-size tetsusaiga, that would be one heavy beast. It's a smart move going for a short version. I'd like to invite you to the general anime thread to discuss anime swords. Getting back to the topic, I've seen some pretty accurate SLOs that you could rob fittings from for the mugen. It'd probably be cheaper than getting custom fittings made. You can can get a quote from saito. He's been experimenting with casting.

His is double edged in the anime. But I have it on good authority that the one you're showing me is not full tang.

I didn't know that. Anyway, I'm sure it isn't full tang, but it has metal fittings, and it's cheap enough to rob parts from.

Yeah true, I could always mod out one of those cold steel double edge katana for it.

...That Yubashiri does look kinda cool. I sorta want one now. And I'm not even much of a One Piece fan. EDIT: "At the moment, we only ship within the Philippines."Well, damn.

Ah, hell, that sucks. Their DMC3 Yamato actually looked pretty good; they also used to make a damn fine (and I mean damn fine) looking replica of Shinomori Aoshi's dual kodachi from Rurouni Kenshin: According to their Facebook, they may bring it back if their original post gets about 1,000 likes and 300 shares, but that doesn't seem likely (though they may bring it back as a pre-order only, which I take to mean a special order)... Of course, since they only ship in the Philippines for the foreseeable future, the whole thing is kinda moot.

I've got a sakabatou(reverse blade sword and sp?) It's really solidly built and pretty damn sharp. If you want I can take some pictures of it
