Hey Ric, did you happen to pick on of these sword up? I have been eying them for awhile and think I may have to buy the longsword. Oh and thanks for the update on shipping outside the US.

Beefier pommel on it's own doesn't true...but we do know 2 are blunts and 2 are sharp...and since as pointed out before, blunt blades weight more, it makes sense to have bigger pommels on the blunts to help with balance. That was my reasoning too. I think there's some confusion surrounding these swords. Unless I'm mistaken, there are not four seperate swords in the lineup that are available as sharp or blunt, rather there are two pairs of swords. In other words, the 301 is the blunt version of the 303, and the 302 is the blunt version of the 304 (see link I gave above).

Hell yeah, once! I ordered the sharp longsword the minute I saw it. I'm really having to restrain myself from getting the arming sword also. I just bought so many swords lately, I must resist.......

Resist, Ric.... Resist. What if we find out that these swords did not truly live up to expectations?

I'll have to hold off, Luke. My wife loves me but there are limits to her patience. She's been very good to me lately.

Ric - just buy them and don't tell her, ship them to me (I might be able to help with that), and I'll keep them for you until you need to call on them (zombie penguin invasion). Until then I'll send you e-postcards and chopping vids.
How's that sound?

Hang on, you're gonna come round and nick that Braveheart sword you had your eye on, aren't you? You'll have to get up a bit earlier than that to trick me, Ric Willy.

Man!!! I want to pull the trigger on one (perhaps two) of these, but I hesitate each time because I haven't seen the specs on the blade lengths, POB, etc. Are these posted/available yet?

I just took the plunge as well. I picked up the longsword. For the price of the sword and the fact you get a decent looking scabbard you really cannot go wrong. Cannot wait to get mine Just a quick question, does anyone know if the scabbards are wood core or just leather? Thank you.

Woodcore would be sweet. On a side note I have the VA old style viking, it came with a plain leather sheath. I have kept it in that sheath for a couple years now and not a sign of rust. I can't do that with my other blades. Got it coated with ren-wax like the rest. No it's not stainless lol.

My main concern is the blade length on the blunt longsword.
I was looking for a blunt that came in around 3 - 3.5 lbs. w/ a 35" blade. The one in the picture on page 2 looks far too short - and based on my rough screen measurement estimations, the blade on the "blunt" longsword is about 87% the length of the "sharp" model, though the handle appears to make up for this by evening out the OAL for the most part. AARRGH, I want to send in my order, but I also want a blunt that comes close to the approx. 45" OAL / 36" blade length / 3 lbs. of my LS. I might get this one anyway, but I'm hoping someone can chime in here with the OAL/BL/weight...

Yep. In the last 24 hours, I've ordered on of brotherbanzai's LS wasters and now this. Maybe a blunt needs to find it's way home to me as well....WAIT A MINUTE, I've been neglecting the Arming Sword category by only ordering one in the last few weeks (AoV modified MRL Arming Sword)... I better fix THAT!!! *sigh*
