As expected my swords sit in purgatory... I check the tracking number all the time in vain

Does one really need the 34" reach for zombie work?
Or will a 28" katana or 21" wakisashi suffice? (Another 6" or 12" margin against possible infection?!)

I'd like the reach myself... getting any closer then I have to to a Zombie means risking getting bit... yuk.

Probably not, but as you and Sean said, a bit more distance from infection is reassuring. I'd be worried about it being cumbersome in tight space, though. I'd imagine several of the first zombie encounters would be indoors. My go-to zombie sword has around 27" of blade.

That Falchion is a great Zombie whacker... stout and powerful enough in the cut that it could lob a head or, at the least, damage the head/spine enough to kill a Zombie... but not TOO stout as to be slow... the Falchion still moves fairly quickly. I miss her. Speaking of Zombie killing weapons... just laid my hands to another beautiful Fable Blade... alas, this one is not for me... I'm middle man for a transaction between forumites... but this one is, as well as being beautiful, and awesome hand and a half Zombie killing beauty.

She gets plenty of love and attention up here in the mountains. She's worth missing, a great sword. I"ve always thought several of Brenno's blades would be well-suited to the zombie scourge, with his robust edge geometries, stout spines and lively mass taper. I'd like to get my hands on one in a few years.

I own 4, so come on down and visit lovely Georgia... and you can play with some Fable Blades.

If I'm ever in the Empire State of the South, you can guarantee it! I'd also like to bother Marc if only to take a gander at the famous Laird.

Although this thread is about the sword, it appears to be only part of a well-balanced Zombie-slaying solution. I've noticed gloves, armor, other protective gear. Not wanting to hijack this thread, can someone point me to a related thread?

If you can't find one Larry I say start it! Best protective gear for the Zombie Wars!

Always welcome good sir... You can also check out Verrimus, a Regent and a Squire (wait you have a Squire right?) and the magical AT1508.

He does have a Squire... and those are all good swords, but Laird, even after handing over 200+ swords, is still the single most beautiful, impressive sword I've held in my hands... and the one I wanted the most.

I am sure you will get one just as nice from Odin in the future.

For sure, and thanks Marc. Not to mention all the beautiful kat's you own. The VERRIMUS, though, blimey, I nearly forgot. I need to get my butt down south ASAP.

Looking forward to reading what exactly "mixed feelings" means :?: I'm a phone call away from ordering this sword and would appreciate any feedback about it

That is an interesting hybrid style. I always thought a Zombie blade should be more like a machete. Kind of like this: Full tang strength, thick pegged handle, exquisitely sharp edge, heavy pommel.
