I wouldn't spend that much on any one sword. I'd buy a couple Albions, An A&A Black Prince, probably a couple Atrims and maybe have Brenno make me a gladius.
Cool sword, Sparky.

Hmm would probably spent about 3k on swords, a tinker or atrim and an albion Soldat. Enter a 1k poker tournament. Spent the rest on books, DVDs, CDs clothes, maybe a nice suit. A new laptop etcetera. I much prefer cash games to tournies... I clean up at cash games. ;D Its a damn shame you don't live nearby, my custom poker table dosn't see enough skilled players... Ghehehe, I like cash games but like tournaments better, especially with no limit I prefer tournaments. No limit cash games can become too much of a grind and therefore I would take a tournament over a cash game for 1k. And who knows, maybe one day we get the chance to play a game.

$5,350? That takes a good chunk out of my credit card debt...and almsost buys a motorcycle. Hell it could nearly buy a car. Might even get me out of mom's house. Sell your beds, all of them; everybody now sleeps on the rug. Which will be on the floor, and I will walk on it with muddy boots, while you sleep on it. I like wood floors.

It'd be worth every penny then! ;D At least with my wifes addiction to birds I can argue that my swords don't eat anything and don't have vet bills! So that helps get me swords. ;D

$5000 lets see Ill start with the Albion Duke which is $1000 Then the Arms and Armour Henry V another $1000 I would commision a Type XII from Tinker Pearce. $1250 I think at that point I would take a break from spending money.

Okay, given Mr. Lundemo quoted me $1200-1600 for a custom Willow leaf Saber, there goes $3200 for the Saber and a matching Jian. Throw in some custom scabbards for both which should run about $1000. So we're up to $4200 - the custom Jin-Shi stuff I want (Han Dynasty Jian and Dao) will run me about $700 for both pieces with scabbards. Let's see that's $4900 - so the rest should get me some custom daggers from Brenno.
On the other hand, if I spent that kind of money without my wife knowing ahead of time. Well, somebody make sure it's a nice looking funeral.

Ah, I see. You might as well go for the gusto there. No worries, mate. Now, as for me, I've been thinking about this mythical $5,350 for the better part of an hour in-between working on a paper and planning a rehearsal schedule, and I've got to say, I'm a little stumped. That's just enough money to give me too many options, and just little enough to not let me buy absolutely everything I want. So to keep my head from exploding, I think I'll just put down swords that would amount to far more than that in total, and figure out which three or so I would choose later. So, I'd be looking at.... This: This: This with a fletcherized grip, fittings and scabbard: This: This: This: This: This: This: This: This: This: This: This: This with Malatesta fittings: This: And at least one of these: /index.cgi?board=designs&action=display&thread=13937&page=1 ;D ;D ;D

Hey, an authentic Persian Rug is no joke. Treat it well Shadow, that's gonna be an heirloom!
If I had that kind of money that was burning a hole in my pocket, I'd pick up an Albion Brescia Spadona, I just think that's one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. I'd also get a nice DBK scabbard for it. Non sword-related, I'd pay off a few student loans

Sounds like pretty much what I'd do, although I might go for just a custom jian and custom scabbard, then invest the rest in some tools and try my hand and making something basic myself! Assuming college loans don't murder me first

Hi Shadow
What scares the &*%$ out of me is that my wife is right now overseas, with full access to our (limited) money - and will be for another couple weeks.
I started to think of all the awesome swords I would like and now all I am thinking of is all the things she would like to spend it on. Ah well if we end up with 500 bottles of red wine we'll invite you lot over!
I'm with Lunaman though, I'd like to get most all those, a whole collection to me to experiment with - like every new VA sword for a start!
Rob
