can anyone confirm whether the fittings are real brass/bronze and not zinc alloy painted? How would you like me to test it? the only way i know of is to put a deep scratch and see if its yellow underneath or dull grey

Happening to me right now, USPS lost a GUN that was going to my FFL and when confronted about it they acted like it was no big deal and said nothing they could do. 0 attempt made to even find it. This happened several years ago. USPS "lost" a fairly expensive rifle and scope that was fully insured. They refused insurance claim etc. Right off the bat. One more chance was given to them, and if nothing was done to locate said rifle, the ATF is going to be contacted and they can deal with them. The rifle and all contents "magically" appeared(I think it was 4-5 days later) Yeah thats what i did, i said theyed be contacted by the local ATF office, and they said id hear back ASAP. Lol. Imagine that.

Shipping insurance is worthless, if they lose the package they will NOT honor it. Ive had multiple packages go missing or be marked delivered but to the wrong address and their answer is always the same "its marked delivered not our problem" or "you need to call this person" and then when you call that number they tell you you need to call the person you just talked to who gave your their number then they will bounce you back and forth until you give up.

Got a facebook memory from 8-9 years ago today of the first knife he bought from me. Back when nobody else believed in me, and other makers were out to take a dump on me and get me to quit before i even got started this awesome dude bought a knife.
He is greatly missed.

I like the subtle pattern, makes it look American made.

Looks pretty good So Far. Ive never been a fan of inlays though.
Unless your an absolute MASTER they always seem to come out sloppy looking.

Idk what hanwei problem is, a while back i had a guy who wanted me to customize a brand new GSOW for him, he purchased one from kult of athena and when it showed up it was over 1/2 pound too heavy for what its advertised as, the point of balance was like 9 inches and it had absolutely no distal taper at all. We sent it back to kult of athena who then checked all of their recent stock from hanwei and all of the GSOWs were about 1/2 lb too heavy with no distal.... its sad because the GSOW was one of the best production swords on the market.

I have a small suggestion that might help you out should you actually have this made. As Drawn the current edge bevels will result in an overly heavy blade with not great cutting geometry dude to how steep the primary bevel is, if you modify it to have a plunge grind and go full height up to the fuller you will remove A ton of extra weight and have a very good slicing edge geometry, and a better balanced sword overall.

I started to do the Steel barrel stab test because early on in my career I had the very tip of a customers blade break off in a destruction test, Turned out I'd over heated the tip, and have since changed the way i heat my blades.

Note that's actually Wes proofing one of his own swords before sending it out, as opposed to "one of the guys" making it and nobody doing quality control. His video is 100% accurate. That's all it takes. Give it a few good wacks on the flat of the blade, chop some stuff, flex it to make sure it's springy. I chop my dull edge into some mild steel bars to make sure I ground off all the soft decarb from heat treat. A hardened dull edge will be unbothered by it, if all the decarb is gone. That's just one thing I do, other guys have their own ways of course. Boom you're done testing it lol. 5 to 10 minutes, tops. Interesting test, I Might need to add that to my routine.

Feels like an unnecessary taunt, albeit amusing. Not unnecessary at all judging from some of the uninformed comments forum members have been posting here. Wes literally had to spell it out for them. Good that he did. There sure did seem to be a lot of confusion about how Properly heat treated 1095 carbon steel is supposed to react... "it bends and stays bent so it doesnt break" is a flat out lie/cop out. Properly tempered it will neither brake nor stay bent...and citing the japanese katana, a thousand year old design is hillarious. The Samurai did the best with what they had to work with for sure, but thats not an excuse for modern sub par performance. It would be akin to saying its ok that my brand new gun jams because in the 1800s black powder was unreliable at best.
