I really enjoy doing lo-fi basement reviews for swords that don't have a lot of promotional material for them. But even though I have two jobs, I can barely afford Windlass. How do you guys pay for all these swords you review? What kinda jobs do you have? What is your secret? LOL.

I'm a bartender/head of security now fulltime. I'm divorced, with two daughters full time, pay all my bills and have a general gross income around $30,000 US. I'm generally smart with my money, I rent housing but it is affordable, I'm over 30 with no major or minor traffic infractions so I have good insurance rates, have good medical insurance coverage, and my cost of living is quite low because I don't spend frivolously, I own my pickup outright and my cost of living and children come first.
I pay for all of my swords out of pocket with the exception of two swords. One the United Cutlery Honshu Broadsword which Paul Southern asked me to review as well as a work in progress sword that has yet to be revealed also by Paul.
Usually my sword purchases come around Tax time when I get a decent refund and put a few hundred dollars towards new swords. It definitely benefits my personal spending being a single parent as I don't have my ex blowing all the disposable income on her junk and bad habits anymore, lol. But normally I'm just a smart budget shopper when it comes to swords. I buy a lot on sale and with discount codes, comb the forum classifieds for swords I'm interested in and stick to my budget of sub $300. If I got the extra funds I buy it, if I don't I don't.

I have a well-paying job and no kids. We (my wife and I) have a strict budget we follow, which includes "fun money" for the both of us. We can use that fun money for whatever we want. I tend to use mine on swords!
My wife is also very supportive of my hobby and will chip in from time to time. For instance, I have a commission with Eric McHugh in the works, and she's paying for half of it.
