Very nice!
Bad timing for me; hobby funds all gone or I’d grab this one.

Welcome to the forum Uploaded photos must be less than 1mb in size each. You can also post photos thru a photo hosting site. sbg-sword-forum.forums.net/thread/62174/add-picturesWithout photos or more info, it will be hard to help you. From what you posted already, it sounds like you may have a 440 stainless steel bar in the shape of a katana, perhaps in wooden storage fittings / shirasaya. Generally, stainless is considered to be too brittle to safely use for a functional sword. Regardless, sentimental value for such items can be very high.

Very nice!
Falchions of cavalry proportions are hard to come by. Such blades always seem to be hilted as kriegsmessers. I don’t recall ever seeing such a long blade with strong distal taper done in damascus.
Functional 3B’s are just super rare in any form.
Glad you are back. I’m looking forward to seeing all the new creations you guys make with those new tools in your new workshop.

This 40” 2lbs 14oz pattern-welded beauty (kriegsfalchion?) by JL / Lyndle Driggers will be heading my way next month. I have been eagerly looking forward to this one!

Someone was just looking for an Oakeshott, but I don’t remember who. No WTB that I could immediately find.

Don't be sleeping on the Vassal either, if someone wants a really fun handling falchion. That one is an absolute beast. Dunno if it would be considered an arming sword, but the Vassal is a Fomula One scalpel with a three foot reach!

Hmh, an emotional support sword collection, a concept I have to think over... Good friends to gather round you; to laugh with you, celebrate with you, and to tell you to stop being such a baby when you’re feeling down.

How do I find my emotional support sword? None of mine call to me that way.... Maybe buy more....I'll find it I swear! Now my wife can't argue that I am buying swords.... Quantity has a quality all its own…

I have a Swiss 1867 cav trooper saber made by SIG. Does that count?

From what I understand, the idea of a limited run for every model was something Howy Waddell was absolutely adamant about. Having missed out on a few models from Albion and others, I totally get it. Knowing any particular model could suddenly become unavailable forever, I tend to be more aggressive in getting the ones I really like while the gettin’s good. Especially when it looks like the type that no one will ever sell.

I kinda agree with the consensus.
Personally, I’ve never had a non-sword person notice any details like this, and enthusiasts are generally aware of the possibility that the slight twist could be intentional.
I am of the opinion that a keyed and peened pommel/tang interface is optimal. If a maker does this, then a slightly twisted pommel would require extra work to achieve, and legitimize any “meant to do it” claim.
Ultimately, if it’s acceptable to you personally, then you are good to go.

Berserkr is already here!
Two days order-to-door, IL to FL.
KoA has really stepped up their shipping times!
Also, if you like single edge swords, I highly recommend getting a Berserkr. It feels more robust and authoritative than, say, their falchion or messer, but it’s still lively and maneuverable. You won’t win any duels with it, but it would be a ferocious brawler in a heavy scrap. If I had to choose only one, this might be my new pick when facing a zombie apocalypse.

I asked Mike about whether they'd ever bring back retired models and his answer was an adamant, "Never." That said, they do have another kriegsmesser in the works, and I've also heard that Peter Johnsson is motivated to finish it up. The kriegsmesser, like fusion power, is only a few years away, and always will be. lol
