Hi everyone! I'm the lucky guy who Skip mounted this baby up for and I have to say, I'm extremely satisfied with Skip's work. I believe someone had asked where the tsuba came from...its a steel paul chen tsuba I bought used from a guy on sfi. Thanks for all the compliments on my new sword

Hey Gang, Ok, kind of a long story on this one In short, this is a rewraped PC Bushido tsuka. Geeez,.. That simple statemant sure deminish's the amount of work that goes into such a project ;-) Not to mention the logistics involved. The owner is over sea's, and I dont have the blade to work with. Any chance of changing tsuka length or shape ( removal of wood ) was really not an option on this one. Not having the nakago as a referance creates interesting variables Original mekugi ana is used. Basicly, the "stock" fittings were 38mm for the fuchi, and the new fuchi measures 44mm. I've included a shot of the new tsuka/fuchi with the old fuchi next to it for comparison. Buttressing (sp) or building up the old core was aided by doing a full same' wrap, but wood was also used. Both to secure the new fuchi/kashira, as well as to put a small amount of shape into a stick straight tsuka. Very subtle, but a slight hour glass shaping is now present. Fish eye affect doesnt help bring out subtle shaping The Maki Can anyone name it? This is not my creation, just my interpretation of a very rare style. With no source for an accurate way to do this, I winged it Pictures are also scarce. If anyone has access to simular wraps, please please, post them. The menuki Tree of life. Assembled, but not "made" by me. They go well with the "Theme" For me to consider this a passable wrap/tsuka... bottom line is it tight and solid, Will it hold up? I feel confidant that indeed yes, it will. Looks are cool, but gota use it too. The center strand of ito is very secure. Everything came out pretty good. Soon it will return to its owner and be in use and on display Thanks for looking Take care, Skip Album s733.photobucket.com/albums/ww333/RoyalGardner/Tsuka%20Rewraps/PC%20Bushido/Old Fuchi next to new
