I will keep this short and just show my video.
I am not a strong person,, in fact, you would probably meet me and poke my belly like the doughboy.
secondly,, I have much slighter swords that offer MUCH MORE resistance to bending. THey get to be very stable in shape even when quite thin,,, my windlass swords keep their shape MUCH BETTER.
so,, after another buyer posted in another sword group on facebook showing a bend, and since I bent mine, I thought I better give it a proper test and just bend it real quick,, I bought a thinner bar from home depot of mild steel and had more trouble. at least they annealed it.....
I get right to the bend test. you can see really clearly.

update:
They've asked me to take the video down, I'm not ready yet because firstly I only just posted it and secondly I'm worried there's a bunch of people with similar condition swords. I saw a post recently by scorpion swords (I'm pretty sure), and it appeared as though the make batches, and it also appears as though they are getting busier, so it's imaginable that for one reason or another,, maybe a new hire, maybe a missed step,,, there must be a number of goofy swords that were shipped around the time mine was.

This is dead soft. I've heard it happened to their swords before. You are not alone.

That's not good, although to be fair any company can have the odd dud slip through quality control. Have they offered to do anything to fix the issue?

So they asked you to put the video down. What did they say about the sword?

My first question is "did you contact the company first before posting the video?". I feel that is important to first let the manufacturer know about any defect, then you can post whatever you like about them after they have had a chance to respond. I feel it to be a bit unfair to broadcast to the world something negative without having any follow-up response - it's never a nice way for a manufacturer to find out about a defect through public forums and not from the customer directly.
With that said, if the company fails to respond or blows you off, then that should be included. Likewise, there is no harm in showing a defect then stating that the company made it right.

That is not a bad heat treat, that is NO heat treatment! What a POS product. Maybe they can rename the "day walker" to the "air bender"...LMAO
Inspired by the "Blade" movie series starring Wesley Snipes. Combat ready tactical sword designed by SBG Sword Tester and designer, Jason Woodard. Individually Hand Made by Chris Palmer in the USA.
Gotta kinda wonder...Was the blade in question hand made by Chris and he "just forgot" to heat treat it before selling it or maybe someone else, somewhere else, is making the blades...hmmm. I will wager that inquiring and suspicious minds want to know.

I don't know what's worse, forgetting to harden a blade or asking a reviewer to take down their video showing them bending your sword like a paperclip.
Or his tempering phase was WAY too hot.

Food for thought - CAS Iberia didn't ask me to take down my video breaking an APOC sword last December when I posted it and then emailed them after. Instead they just sent me a new one to test.

Instead they just sent me a new one to test. on one hand i can understand the reaction,,, but on the other, it's just a part of the youtube era. If all that happens is my video is up about their bendy blade,,, then yes, it should certainly steer some people away, but if it is accompanied by a comparison to a good one,,, then it should end up ok. CAS Iberia is a longstanding industry leader, so their ups and downs go a little differently, I suppose, than a small operation that is still relatively new. I do hope that the case is just a forgotten heat treat, because I was hopeful that the admittedly "sharpened bar" would at least be a very heavy duty bar. In my imagination,, their business picked up a lot, and they aren't used to the volume. whether or not it was an intentional corner cut or an oversight in a busy environment is the real critical bit of information.

With that said, if the company fails to respond or blows you off, then that should be included. Likewise, there is no harm in showing a defect then stating that the company made it right. no. i contacted them WITH the video. I made the video after someone commented in a facebook group, though, and after their experience and my having bent mine on a bottle, I decided I would go ahead and try to see just what a push would be like. I knew what was going to happen because after I bent the sword on the bottle,, I bent it back and it did feel the same at the time, but since it was barely bent, and I only bent it just so slightly, I didn't really have that feeling in my hands. Once I made the video though, it bent like play-doh. I think it's worsened by being partially heat treated,,, it seems to have a big soft spot in the middle, so the leverage is concentrated on the one place,, when I pushed on the tip it resisted pretty well. as for the ethics of posting the video first,,, well,,,, it's a new era. I wanted to make the video for a different person, not the makers, so I would have posted the video regardless, to show the other facebooker my experience. I really feel that videos are a thing of the future,, and really one video should be meaningless in the long run, assuming other happy buyers post their own. True, it's the unhappy experience that generally results in a video,, but if you have enough happy experiences, many of them will ultimately share their cutting or showcase and feature it. Lots of sword and knife enthusiasts make videos of their good experiences just as a social activity. If my sword is bad, and their product is a worthy purchase, then the buyers who would want it will ultimately buy it even if one bad video floats around one time. Then again,, if bunches of people can bend their sword with a quick knee,, they might be in for some commentary.

How could a sword hand made by ONE guy miss heat treat like that? I think Chris owes YOU a public apology. According to the site, its clearly on him.

So they asked you to put the video down. What did they say about the sword? they said they'll replace it. Actually, after I emailed them back asking to keep the original, they agreed I could. I said it would be really nice to have both, so I can then show the difference, and they said that would be ok. so all might be very well, honestly,, if they send me one that works nice, cuts my targets, feels like a crowbar, cuts like a snowplow, and doesn't break like glass (which is the other side of this one,,, it could shatter,, and there's probably a sweet spot that will still be able to be bent if I really want to (probably with more leverage)) ,,,,,, I will be able to have a really nice contrast in my collection,, a little show and tell that is honestly really rare. So, there is always a "it was for the better" outcome i can hope for at this point. I mean I know you want replicas of your good ones with poor heat treat so you can occasionally demonstrate the benefit!

THey did offer to replace it,, and after I asked to keep the old one, they agreed to also allow me to keep the old one. I wanted to keep the old one so I can show and tell the contrast in heat treat,,, I offered that I would send it back but it would be super sweet to have both,, they agreed. It's true, they should have the opportunity to experience the condition of it, so they can see firsthand, but I think they should be able to see the video pretty well,, so really by now they should know what they are looking at,,, meanwhile I will have many opportunities while sharing my swords to show people how one can be so easily bent, while the other is sharper, stays firm, etc. it might be a rare opportunity. I'm hopeful!
