My second went better than the first also. I now understand that Pfizer is requiring a third shot. I heard rumours of this and yesterday read it in the paper. It is recommended 12 months after the second.

I've had my first one. Don't know if I'll get the others. I barely get out of the house, and when I do, I'm wearing a mask. That first one was bad enough. My shoulder still hurts, and it's been over a week now. I will give creds to the guy who was giving them though. I barely felt it. I sure can feel it now!...

“...and when I do, I'm wearing a mask.” You do realize the idea of the mask is to protect the other guy and not the wearer? Although the wearer will probably get some protection.

Soon after I reported no side effects I felt a bit tired. Nothing serious and less than after the first shot.

Me and a brother (twin) got J&J on Fri. at 1:30. After going to bed (2AM) I noticed I was not warming up like usual so continued adding blankets and such until realizing I was experiencing vaccine reaction. I could not sleep and a dull ache appeared in my head, accompanied by soreness/stiffness in neck, shoulders, sides of my lower back (kidneys). I took a few aspirin (6:45AM) and went back to bed, getting up at around 11:30AM. Felt like I had a hangover. Had a mild fever with temp nearing 100 around 6PM but it did not get worse and I had a late lunch. Went to be at 12:30 after taking an ibuprofen (could have butchered the spelling on that one ). Anyway, slept for 11 hrs. and feel fine. Btw, my brother had EXACTLY the same symptoms, which is why the detail in my post. I was kind of worried about the shot because of the bee sting incident last summer.

Getting my second shot Wednesday. Will tell how it went Friday or Saturday. Was talking to a friend yesterday that has done a lot of reading on this. First they seem to be recommending Tylenol not ibuprofen to be taken if you have reaction to the shot. And not to take it before just once you start feeling pain, fever, etc. I prefer ibuprofen and haven’t taken Tylenol in 35-40 years so I had to get some. Second, and I found this interesting, if you have most of a reaction after the first shot then you’ve probably had COVID. If you have more of a reaction after the second shot then you probably have not had COVID. Anyway that seems to be the pattern that is emerging.

That first shot/second shot, COVID/non COVID is interesting. I wonder how that jives with the one shot J&J? I was actually thinking of getting a COVID antibody test before being vaccinated because there is some logic to not getting vaccinated at all if you already have antibodies, though do not know how protection compares to antibody (or non antibody) AND vaccination. At any rate, I was too lazy to get antibody test and figured I would be more protected if I indeed had non symptom COVID.

Howler, I don’t think there is any relation to the J&J because it just the one shot, so don’t know if there is any relation between symptoms and COVID or lack there of. And as far whether antibodies or vaccine is better, I’m not sure anybody knows at this point. I really think it’s going to be years before they fully understand everything about COVID.

COVID is in the population now and will be with us to a greater or (God willing) lesser extent for some time. If it (COVID) is gonna get me, I at least want to know I did my best.

Today, for the third time, I got the first injection of the Pfizer vaccine. The first time got jammed up when I caught COVID-19 days afterward. The second attempt was interrupted by emergency abdominal surgery. This time...well...this time it seems to be working just fine, but my immune response has been almost as enjoyable as full-blown COVID was. Also, my right arm (the injection site) is tremendously sore...moreso than any previous vaccination experience. I can hardly wait to live through my second injection, which is supposed to have an even stronger response. </sarc> With three of the first shots hopefully the 2nd is no biggie. They say (who is they?) just the 1st the first shot provides significant protection so your immune system could be extra primed by now. Three shots? Who has three shots?

Three shots???? Who has three shots? Pfizer is now recommending three although that’s not what the above is about. Their third should be administered 12 months after the second.

Well, got my second pfizer shot this past Saturday. Word was a person might have more of a reaction to the second shot so I decided Sunday would be a " lighter activity day " -- no hard workout, just stretching, cals, and light weights, although I did chop the back lawn before it rained ... and I always work up a bit of a sweat doing yard work.
All in all, my arm hurt much less the second time. I will suggest that might be because the lady who injected me instructed me to " relax the muscle. " Although I don't recall tensing up for the first shot, I certainly could have.
( The last time I got needled was to have a tooth pulled years ago -- and I definitely tense up at the dentalist. )
Other reactions ? Honestly, at the ripe ole age of 64 -- as I wrote before, I think -- there ain't a day that goes by that something doesn't hurt. Some of the minor aches could've been a reaction to the vaccine, or just my normal situation ... but there was nothing debilitating; no fever; nothing that would've completely shut me down for the day ...
But nothing wrong with being cautious ... B-)
