Oh my, for a fleeting moment there I honestly thought that was Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer!

The fans demanded white skin, and it appears they're getting it. A big white skinned turd. Maybe next time trust the director to get good people rather than demanding slavish adherence to the way they looked in the game or novel. Did anyone in Milius' Conan look like the book versions? Ah, no. But they kicked ass and anyone who says otherwise is itching for Crom's justice.

Ahnuld's Conan was a gormless lump of dumb muscle not fit to kiss the literary character's sandaled feet. I'll fight you.
(Glorious movie, though!)

Oh god, it's horrible, send help. Excellent. Hits the mood of the old polish TV show while looking much better. Perfect book look; a little too pretty though... ;-) I knew the game nerds would go rampage on him. Wait until you DONT see cats eyes and NO two-swords-backpack on him - like in the books. Also its kinda confirmed he is going to wear a bandana during monster hunts for keeping the hair from the eyes. I am a little more confident after watching this and after avoiding the worst Ciri scenario; they still handed that cup over to Fringilla Vigo... pity. And Yen looks FAR too young from just looking at the casting pics; thats not so spot-on either. EDIT: please dont forget - this is an EARLY costume/make-up test... nothing is written into stone so far.

I still would like to see Josh Brolin as Guts! Ah, i know, he is too old by now - but man, would he kickass! Any casting ideas for a good Berserk boy?

Cant understand you, guys... perfect fit IMHO. I am interested; who read the books, who played only the games, and who fixes that dislike on books and games not matching? Just asking... sometimes there are such phenomena: me in 1999 watching Episode1 with big bright eyes, and not getting it why everybody is disappointed, and 2017 leaving the cinema during Episode 8 cos I couldn't stand that garbage any longer... ;-)

I was dead set on watching this but now im not so sure. That just looks like bad cosplay. That's just how TV and cinema look before post production. Seriously. You'd be shocked how cruddy a lot of widely celebrated props, costumes, characters and sets look in person.

But i don't like to get my hopes up about these things - less disappointment. Maybe netflix shld have reconsidered releasing this footage then...

Pity... alone again with the back to the wall... ;-) Ah, never mind - i allready like it! Give him some used look and some scars (iconic eye-scar isnt described in the books either AFAIK), good sword training (at least GOT level, i would prefer some czech/polish coaches there), and the thing will work just fine.

While not a big fan of the face, it can be fixed with some better makeup and in post, the chin is s bit of a trouble spot for me tho.
What really triggers me is that horrible costume, i hope it's a placeholder, quality looks semprini and its so plain and boring, don't even get me started in the wide as semprini ren-faire style belt and buckle, who needs swords, he can just spank his enemies to death with that stupid thing, hopefully costume department gets it together.

I can't believe the number of people defending the cheap, and obviously synthetic, wig and the bizarrely brown eyebrows. There is no excuse for this in a 2018 production by one of the wealthiest production companies in the world.

There is no excuse for this in a 2018 production by one of the wealthiest production companies in the world. It's just a pre-production costume test, not actual raw footage from the show. They're still designing the characters and sets and trying out things like what sort of materials and colors look good with their hardware and planned post-production processes and the actors' skintones, etc. Unless some executive falls plumb in love with a certain look, none of what they're currently working with will look the same when the show finally airs. PS. And yeah, the eyebrows look ridiculous, but that's exactly the kind of detail you wouldn't bother with for early test shoots like this because once you do the actor will have to go about their life with white eyebrows for the duration of the shoot.

Thats exactly what most of the guys dont get computed. OF COURSE eyebrows should be white, for example (by the way, my hair are completely silver by now, my eyebrows are almost black brown, and my beard is dark/silver mix... just for the record. Could happen with a mutation too. I cant remember Geralts eyebrows were mentioned somewhere in the books anyway). OF COURSE, the look should be more worn off, dirtier. And it will be, i am sure. Honestly, this is typical negative web-warrior premature jerk-off, months before anything reliable is shown. I thought especially we here were better than that.

If it's pre-production, why in the world would they publicly release it? Almost every reaction I have seen or heard has been negative, and the folks making this show have to be smart enough to know that a half-assed costume test is not a way to generate positive buzz.
