It's just a pre-production costume test, not actual raw footage from the show. They're still designing the characters and sets and trying out things like what sort of materials and colors look good with their hardware and planned post-production processes and the actors' skintones, etc. Unless some executive falls plumb in love with a certain look, none of what they're currently working with will look the same when the show finally airs. PS. And yeah, the eyebrows look ridiculous, but that's exactly the kind of detail you wouldn't bother with for early test shoots like this because once you do the actor will have to go about their life with white eyebrows for the duration of the shoot. If it's pre-production, why in the world would they publicly release it? Almost every reaction I have seen or heard has been negative, and the folks making this show have to be smart enough to know that a half-assed costume test is not a way to generate positive buzz. Things like this are released for the same reason DVD extras commonly include flubbed takes, deleted scenes and raw production footage. Fans are genuinely interested in this kind of behind-the-scenes stuff. And from a marketing POV, it's an early teaser, essentially a deliberate leak (they're inevitable, and it's much more cost effective to use them than to fight them on mindless principle) whose purpose is to maintain audience awareness and to generate discussion and possibly even useful feedback. We're talking about it. That means it's successful.

Well, the reactions here in europe are a little bit better... guess the people over here didnt expect a Witcher3 clone... but that has been made clear pretty early. I see a good match to the book vibe; yeah he is kinda too handsome here, but again: they grant fans a first look, and then: shitstoooom! I am pretty sure the public taste will be hit a lot better when its finished... and when not? Guess what, i - and a lot of other people - like the look. I also like the old polish Witcher TV show... well, kinda. The "SFX" are hard to swallow. ;-) There are some other things that make me lift my eyebrows though - but certainly not him!

I don't think one needs to be expecting a Geralt modeled on the game series model to be disappointed in this teaser. Honestly, the only requirement for feeling disappointed by it is having any expectation of quality. I know...I know that it can be argued that this is a clip from some rando costume test, but it's also the first impression they are giving of the character...and that impression is that this production is cheap and ill-considered. Please, by all means, hold out hope that the final product will be worth the wait. I hope it is, but my expectations have been substantially lowered.

Thats exactly what most of the guys dont get computed. OF COURSE eyebrows should be white, for example (by the way, my hair are completely silver by now, my eyebrows are almost black brown, and my beard is dark/silver mix... just for the record. Could happen with a mutation too. I cant remember Geralts eyebrows were mentioned somewhere in the books anyway). OF COURSE, the look should be more worn off, dirtier. And it will be, i am sure. Honestly, this is typical negative web-warrior premature jerk-off, months before anything reliable is shown. I thought especially we here were better than that. Something like this guy...?

If you are referring to the hair color mix, absolutely. If you refer to worn off & dirty, most DEFINITELY. If you refer to premature jer... ah, lets cut that. I hope it was no intention to get personal or something like that.

Huh, yeah I agree the wig looks a bit rough and hopefully appears more natural in the final cut (which it likely will). Although I'm in agreement with @oldvesemir, Henry Cavill does evoke how a more trim, less scarred (and experienced) Geralt looks from his description in the short stories anthologies. Geralt as he's portrayed in the ps4 game (which I've been obsessed with since finally starting it this year, such an amazing experience) is a bit more gruff, rough and beat up than he was during the period the show is adapting.
But that wig is a bit...well, Orlando Bloomey. Ah well, so far I've been happy with the casting decisions so there's no need for doom and gloom, too early to determine what the final result will look like. After all, we've yet to see a sample of the script and choreography aside from this rough sketch of a costume teaser
And hey, at least Cavill doesn't have a photoshopped upper lip this time

The wig sucks for sure. I for one am not getting into a "this is gonna suck" mentality just yet. I like the books, I love the games and I'm still super excited. I get that there are a lot of disappointing adaptations out there but hell, don't you all want to enjoy the show?

It's amazing how realistic these animated things are, you have to wonder if the day of no real live actors is coming. Hollywood would save a fortune on the outrageous paychecks some of these actors get. Have to admit I never heard of the Witcher before I bought one of his Wolf pendants for a project I was working on. Every other Wolf head pendants looked stupid. Even have one now where the eyes light up red.

So uh, I sure hope this is some far away barely spottable on screen extra costumes or some bad stuntman costumes or even straight up fake, because uuh..If this is the actual design for Nilfgaard..Ouch?

I sincerely hope that's fake because that looks like leather harvested from a wrinkly ball sack.

It is pretty much fake... the source is most likely to be known as...yeah, a pot of salt.

It is pretty much fake... the source is most likely to be known as...yeah, a pot of salt. And what do you base that statement on? It's actually very likely real, it's in hungarian which is where the majority is filmed, the channel has other leaks from the set.
What we can hope and what I think is likely is that it's some kind of cheap model used for soldiers we will barely see, far far away.
Here is another shot of what is supposedly Temerian armor, and another Nilfgardian, tho we can't see details on the latter.
Edit: Also just noticed the video was taken down on a copyright claim, copyright claim on a fake video? Nop.

Temerian armor looks pretty neat!

The latter two designs are pretty cool, even if the last one is just a silhouette.

I was hoping they'd stick with the visual style of the games, that a clearly 1440-1480s central/eastern Europe. That's what I liked. It was basically Europe in that time period with names changed (nilfguard=HRE) and monsters.
This looks like it might be zena/Hercules/new adventures of Robin hood in quality and style.

Well here we go, I have to say I'm not impressed, some parts look alright but this trailer completely failed at hyping me...Also that crappy leaked Nilfgaard armor is actually the closeup version of the armor.
Hows that for fake, Holger?
But yeah, shame..I'll still watch it but god I wish they could have done it more justice.
