Hello, welcome to my little bag of holding, now first things first...Whatever you do, do not bring your own bag of holding into mine, the consequences will be disastrous! Been meaning to make this thread for a while now but haven't felt like my collection was big enough to warrant it's own topic. I feel it is finally time, and I am excited! I have always loved photography so naturally I also love taking pictures of my favorite hobby, so this will be as much for the photography as for the blades themselves for me and I hope you enjoy it. Strigoil some great photography here, really shows off those swords. Thanks man, means a lot coming from you. I've been drooling over your collection on Flickr long before I even knew about this forum! I plan to do more shoots and get more angles of a few of them in the near future, I especially find katanas difficult to take pictures of but I have some ideas.

Thanks man, and don't worry I remember you wanting a review of the Higo and I will take more pictures, wasn't a good photo day. As for equipment I roll with a Canon 80D, for swords I mostly use my Sigma 30mm 1.4 Art lens but for wider shots I switch to a Canon 10-18mm, it's a cheapo but works well enough. I have a 50-250mm as well from Canon but that is used for animals and nature photography. Other than that I use a remote triggered speedlite flash and I recently got a pair of softbox lamps that I haven't used yet. I've really enjoyed doing some photography the past two years and find I learn something new every time I do it, a very rewarding hobby that I would recommend to anyone, great excuse to get out of the house as well!

love it! I may have to look into that Sigma 30mm... that is beautiful You should man, it's a $500 lens that performs like a $1000+ lens, very useful and strong part of any lens kit if you ask me, a fixed 30mm (50mm on full frame body) lens is a must for any budding photographer!

That is a fine collection. I really need to expand mine. Great shots, the lighting certainly gives it some great depth.

Great photography and great swords, what more can you ask for? Maybe pizza? Pizza with swords? Photography of pizza with swords? The possibilities are endless, and they are all great!

Because this is literally everything I want in a high end collection. Very nice! Money? What money? I don't have money, I have swords. Occasionally I get money, but I never have money...Weird.

strigoil Amazing collection. It's threads like these that make me self-conscious of posting my horrible photos to an eventual collection thread of my own. I never will not love the Crecy, even with its 'short' grip.

I never will not love the Crecy, even with its 'short' grip. Thanks, Fald! You should definitely get around to posting your collection, just do your best to show it off and we will all drool over it, no elitism here. And I agree with you on the Crecy, I have been on the verge of selling it a few times because of the grip and how much I want the Albion Alexandria...But I can't part with it, I really like it and I see it as the quintessential knightly longsword, something I just really want to have in my collection, on top of that it is an agile little bugger.

The grip was really the only thing that stopped me putting money down on a Crecy. There was a point where I wanted really long grips, but there's definitely the possibility of 'too much grip' after I've gotten hands on a H/T longsword. The Crecy is still about an inch or inch and a half too short for me, I think.
Yeah, the collection thread - maybe I'll work on some pictures again tomorrow when I'm off work... just I'll have to settle for potato-quality pictures now. Again, yours are beautiful, and thanks for sharing!

Cool piece, how was tod's turnover time? Turnover time was very quick, mind you I reserved a spot in his work queue same time I ordered the sword, so about 2-3 weeks from when he received it. I believe his normal turnaround is 2-4 months at the moment for scabbards, much longer for knives and the like, my dagger was 9 months.

Updated the top post with some pictures I did, they are at the bottom in a new category called "Armor & Scraps"
I've always been extremely camera shy and decided to try my hand at taking a few pictures in my work in progress medieval kit. It's my first time doing pictures of people so it was a learning experience for sure, need to work on better lighting and getting the camera settings proper as they did not come out very sharp at all.
Also let me just say what a rage inducing experience it was to try to keep my hair in check while doing all of this on my own, as you can tell I gave up, hope you all like them tho! Some actual armor pieces should come around may, can't wait!
