I definitely am a huge fan of that too - but until I have my Malatesta in hand - I've tried to promise myself not to get anything else. -_- just do it, one more won't hurt

Alexandria is a full pound heavier than it's Albion counterpart, but then again it's almost 1/3 the price.
That wheel pommel actually has rather attractive stats.

A full pound heavier, but surprisingly even -more- wide at the guard? I could see that extra pound being quite worthwhile with that much more width at the guard and if they reinforced the point a bit more though... The wheel pommel looks to be essentially an improvement on the #7, which is not a bad idea. I'd say the fishtail's still well below eyebrow-raising stats though, in a good way.

My Alexandria is done like dinner! Can't wait for that baby to get here. Thanks for the stats, 28shadow. I wonder if (and hope) that the weight on the Alexandria is with scabbard?

It's the steel on the inside that counts.

This is killing me, literally. If I buy another sword, my wife will divorce me, and I can't afford it! Anybody want to buy a nice, semi-custom Kris Cutlery folded steel langseax?

Hmhm... difficult. I feel like ordering that fish-tailed, double-fullered sword... but i am not in the mood for receiving another overpriced Ronin lemon. I had so much bad luck with them; well, all three models were katana though.

Exactly what gives me pause--though depending on full stats and reviews that could change. I'm glad I already have the #10 "kriegsmesser" and like it well enough. If I'm still uncertain about the Alexandria after all the evaluations I have an RK representative in the collection I can gladly hang on to, and I'll hold out for an Albion--someday--for my XVIIIc thing. If on the other hand RK's Alex works out, I'll grab it too. So--people! Full stats and reviews please! :)

(Most are above. But I need a POB to run my custom calculations or I have no basis for comparison. This is just like the hunt I was on for the kriegs POB, seems like what I'm often doing with RK's. ;) )
(Though long story short, a POB is 3" or less would probably be good.)

Faldarin and 28shadow, I hope to do a review, though I'm kind of anxious about it, as well. I've read plenty of reviews here on this site, and they're so well-done. Very professional. Not sure I'd do quite as well. Part of the problem is that I'm not overly good with photos, and even poorer at getting photos online. Another thing is that I live in the city in a fairly crowded area, so I don't get to do much cutting at all. That part of the review would be blank, I'm afraid. I also have an Alexandria on order from Albion. So, I had intended to do a side-by-side comparison review. Part of the problem with that is that I'm not sure when the Albion will be ready. I ordered last Sept., so it might be a while before its ready. I shall try, though. Just for the record, I ordered the plain Alexandria. No Arabic script on the blade I have coming in. Not sure when it will get here, but hopefully soon.

It doesn't even need to be a full review if you don't feel comfortable with it, just impressions. I'm particularly interested in the build quality, and handling (I know, handling CAN be subjective, but I'm curious).
The build quality, unless these pictures are just from an amazing prototype, seems to be on par with my Euro #7, that is to say, excellent. I would say that they'd need to really mess up the dynamics for this not to be a beast of a cutter as well.

The Ronin Euro model # 3 (Alexandria) is for sale on the Ronin website. However, it is not for sale yet, in the SBG Store. I want to buy it from the SBG Store. The Ronin Alexandria blade base is 3.2 inches wide!!!! That's wider than the Albion (3 inches) version. I like'm wide. Ronin's version also has a 35.4 inch long blade with a 7.1 inch grip with 2 inch round pommel (hand and a half)....and it's historical. I'm in love. ......it's a game changer! Haha....eh Now where is the $400 version of a Robinson Excalibur and a $300 version of an Albion Baron!?! Sword makers pay attention please!

Really, really tempted on this. I really wish they had POB and thickness measurements so I could gauge the stats together.
