I used to work the graveyard shift. The work isn't bad, in fact it is easier than day shift, plus the pay is better. But it really cuts into your social life as you're awake or working when friends and family are asleep and vice versa. Not to mention most businesses close during the night time hours. Kudos to everyone who does it and enjoys it but the extra money wasn't worth the social isolation from my experience.

I have nothing against people working the night shift.
It's just the fact that, if you have ever been dared to spend two hours in a graveyard after midnight, you really wouldn't label a night shift as the 'graveyard shift'. Just saying...

I have some very lovely memories of late night to early morning picnics in a graveyard... Must be very pretty graveyards. Do these look like places for picnic to you? The local cemetery looks much spookier at night than the one on the left, provided that the moon isn't the best source of light for us most of the time and the place has NO ARTIFICIAL sources of light.

Looks familiar, yes. I suppose much depends on your company. "The mind is its own place, and in itself/ Can make a Hell of Heav'n, or Heaven of Hell."

Now you have me thinking I should not have almost lost my bladder back then. For my defense, I was around 7 years old and had just watched Saw, Exorcist: The Beginning, Satan's Little Helper and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Hey, you know you can't derail a thread without me! Asad: When you grow older more and more people you knew or loved are there, so it gets more familiar and less spooky. MOK: A grapeyard?

Well, that's your problem right there - clearly you should have watched The Crow, instead.

I watched that in 2015. During that time, there was just HBO for me. Me and my mother used to watch horror movies all the time, with her sometimes censoring the 'dirty' scenes. But she never left out the gore. She still enjoys martial art, comedy and horror flicks.

To the administrators of the forum, If there is a problem with my post breaching the rules please don't hesitate to PM me and have me edit the post to reflect what is acceptable. It took me some time to write this and I have revised multiple times to fit what I understand to be the rules (I just dont know the extent of those rules which I'm kinda concerned about). again, these are my personal observations and views. Nope, nothing wrong with that post. Well thought out and presented. Didn't cross any lines or rules. All good.

I call it graveyard shift because we have a lift grave yard in the back of the warehouse, plus we had one guy die in there not to far from where that "graveyard" is due to being pinned/crushed by around seven marble tables int the "Bulk" area, and if anyone knows how heavy those things are, it was instant death, didn't find the guy until after an hour when supervisors saw that his scanner wasn't being used...that was around 15 years ago. That and in general the back of the warehouse is creepy with it's auto-lights. we have prep crew that comes in at nine and leaves later, but they don't do the same exact work we do; not as physically demanding. Luckily we have Winco here and it stays open 24/7, roommate and I go there after we get off work to get groceries, significantly cheaper. social life really isn't that bad, just plan around your mornings and days off. Sometimes early mornings or late nights are required to go do something.
