Your shooting the .50 prone, on your belly, so being on the ground helps with recoil, as you'd have to be a real gorilla beast to shoot those monsters standing. My friend Val's father owns Serbu Firearms and, not only is she the prettiest "beast" I've seen fire a .50, but she does it like a BOSS!! Oh, and SHE can do it standing........ She shot all seven all right, but really didn't like the experience, and I can't blame her as I'd probably have quit after one or two. Cant get over how BIG those shells were. Small artillery for sure.

Lol yeah the KSG kicks like a mule. I got one a while back thinking it would be good for my wife. She has very short arms so can't rack most shotguns or even shoulder them well... thought the KSG would be a good solution. Took it shooting... and said nah, this would knock her over. Sean have you tried the "short shells for 12ga? Less powder, same great Ammo, more capacity! 😉 Not in the KSG but I have some reduced power buckshot for my 870 that are shorter allowing me to get one extra shell in the tube. I have not tried those REALLY short ones like the Agilia mini shells that are half the size... have you?

I forget sometimes that a .50 bullet can be considered an "anti-aircraft" round.....

I have shot some of those Aguila mini-shells and I guess the difference is like the tastec difference between Diet Coke, and regular coke.....some might feel less recoil while others might say the kick is the same. I usually put slugs through my Mossberg, so it's a "heavy" projectile anyways. Not even sure if that answered your question, or left you with more now?! LOL

I think they are (many in anti-gun organizations) still trying to classify the .50 as a dangerous device or something, saying there is a fear of taking down choppers, aircraft, assassinations through barriers, etc... Attractive ladies with guns and knives, nothing wrong with that.

All guns are dangerous devices, aren't they? A pink gun (there are such things) shoots the same cartridges as black ones. Don't kid yourself.

Just remember fellows, "Guns" Don`t kill people, repressed, mentally damaged/deranged people WITH guns, kill people. I can't stand those stories in the media where idiots say "the gun just went off." Anyone who understands the internal workings of guns KNOWS that you MUST pull the trigger for a gun to "go off." The problem is that the media and anti-gun groups demonize "Guns" so that people who don't know how they work get scared of even touching them. My wife was one such person, but after I told her "fear is only of the unknown," and taught her....not only how to field strip one.....but how to SHOOT one. Now, not only is she a better shot with a 9mm than most guys I know, but she's not afraid of them anymore. She also teaches her girlfriends gun safety, and how to shoot. Knowledge is power gentlemen! 😉

So her guns won't kill anyone? As long as she does what she should, his wife or her guns ain't killing no one.

You just haven't known enough people who have been killed yet. I'm up to five now, maybe six. Three were relations. Of course, everybody else is dead, too, so it doesn't make a lot of difference now one way or the other.

I am deeply sorry to hear that, or to have made you think if such things...😢 Was not my intended purpose.

So her guns won't kill anyone? Well "her" guns are actually "my" guns that she trains with at the range. ANY gun is capable of taking a life (depending on WHO is holding it), but in the same light any kitchen knife is capable of taking a life.....just depends on "who's" using it. I'm VERY sorry to hear of your loss....just because I like guns doesn't mean I don't share empathy with anyone who's lost someone close to them. Like I was saying, I push gun safety HARD when letting ANYONE even hold one of my firearms unloaded.

Never said I didn't like guns. The fact that you even posted in this thread kinda gives away the fact you like guns 😉

I've had a PTR-91 for a few years now, but I have so few places to fire it. My state is actually very "gun-friendly" but I don't know anyone who has enough land to shoot it on. All the indoor ranges around can't handle .308's so I kinda bumming. Anyone have similar tales of woe?? Didnt know you had one. I have owned an actual HK 91 for over 15 years (pre-ban original). Had to have one after the Robert De Niro /Al Pacino movie, "Heat" came out. I love the positive round ejection. Never has jammed on me. Very accurate. Still want an actual HK claw scope mount and bi-pod. But actual HK parts are mega expensive. Had my own personal shooting range for decades. Now that I don't, I just take it out, oil it and put it back. When our child started walking around, I put most of my weapons away. I like the .308 far better than the .223. Also have an original Colt AR-15 "government carbine" (not a sporter), "shorty" (16 inch barrel with telescoping stock) in .223. The HK design is far superior than the M-16/AR-15. Don't get me wrong, I love it but, we all know the father of the M-16, Stoner, yeah Eugene Stoner, designed a slim and long gas tube. Which is a flaw. So much a flaw that a forward assist, was added. My original has never jammed, but I keep it mega clean. I have had parts guns jam and jam. I also own or owned aks and an original Israeli UZI. In my own experience I have seen that besides the gas tube/port issue, the stamped metal receivers of the HKs, aks and uzi never jam, but the cast or milled receivers (like the ars) can and do. Having said all that, I would like to get a .300 upper with bull barrel, for my Colt Ar and really want the Master Key 12 gauge shotgun attachment for it (ever since I saw Al Pacino's m-16 grenade launcher in Scarface, as a kid) however it's a class III item. .....and having said all that, over the years, I have known families and individuals, (even in law enforcement), that have had accidental discharges, that caused the deaths of 4 children and one adult male (all separate and unrelated incidences). Those families went through and are still enduring HELL years later. It taught me that, the more a gun is handled, the odds increase of an accidental discharge. Therefore, most of my guns and ammo are separated and stored/locked away. Our child is now living off campus at a college university. I wanted to get her and train her for a S&W j frame 442. However, my wife said no way after seeing what others families have endured due to a child lost to accidental discharge...and to be honest, I feel the same way. So, I actually spent three times the cost of the 442 and bought her and trained her for the Taser X2 Defender, two shot taser gun. When she is older and more mature, I will give her and train her for an actual firearm (unless they come out with a semi auto multi shot Taser).

Dangerous device is another classification (I believe)...like explosive and whatnot, with enhanced abilities like taking down an aircraft, etc... A rock or stick (or fist) is dangerous. Listening to Justin Bieber is dangerous.

So her guns won't kill anyone? Maybe...along with her knives and other tools, and someone could die (regrettably, as your only wanting to stop the threat) after being shot or stabbed by her while attempting harm on her and her loved ones.

Odds are that a person in a home is more probable to be shot by a gun from the home, than a perpetrators gun, therefore, always be vigilant and practice gun safety!!!!!! ....oh yeah, Ramses, you can fire .308 rifles at Manchester Firing Line in your state. See link www.gunsnh.com

Sorry, I'm late to this thread...but I've been drooling over the PTR-91 for a long while. No way I can afford a real HK, and the PTR is something of a longshot for me as well. I've considered "just" getting a CETME...but have never pulled the trigger.
Actually getting range time is part of the consideration. I don't shoot the guns I have, so getting more seems kind of silly...swords are much more convenient in that way, I can practice on my back deck, any time I feel like it.
The other consideration is ammo. I haven't followed ammo prices closely for a number of years, but I really stopped shooting regularly once the supply of cheap 7.62x39 dried up and I sold my AK clone & SKS.
