#18: The Barrowblade
Overall: 50"
Blade: 40" long, 1 1/2" wide
Hilt: 10"
Legend has it that Tychon, a lowly captain, slew Orudack, the notorious champion of the barbarian hordes on a long-forgotten battlefield. Tychon claimed Orudack's weapon, and led a victorious charge against the hordes. However, the sword manipulated Tychon's mind, and he led a successful revolt against the king. Gradually, his mind turned heavenward, to where the gods ruled from above--and an insatiable lust formed in Tychon's heart. He led his army to the peak of the highest mountain and invaded the Celestial Gate. Tychon and his army were was met by Asliere, a demigoddess of justice. Tychon was no match for the angel, and Asliere cast the usurper down to earth, where he was entombed deep underground. However, Orudack's sword, or the Barrowblade (as it became known,) kept Tychon in a state of undeath, waiting for unknowing wanderers to release them upon the world once more.
The Barrowblade, made from steel, flares out from the hilt into a flange, then reduces in size, tapering into a double-edged point. The cross-guard is made of silver, cast in the shape of two skeletal, clawed fingers. The hilt is made of bone, wrapped in blackened wire. The pommel is similar to a a flower, gradually decreasing in size, with sharp, jutting points. The steel locket of the sheath is made of interlocking triangles (most likely carved,) the sheath itself is made of black leather, while the steel chape is unadorned.

This is the sword of a common foot-soldier. Constructed as simply as possible, it is a blade capable of good or evil, depending on who wields it. The simple, straight blade of common steel is double edged, and a fuller runs down one third of the blade. The handle is a straight, unadorned piece of brass, and the flat brass pommel flares up to a rounded top.The grip is made of white oak, oiled, but otherwise unadorned. The sheath is made of light brown leather, while the locket and chape are made of brass.
#20: The Mercenary
Overall: 36"

Hilt: 6"
Skilled warriors, who fight for the highest bidder, and have no regard for the well-being of others use these swords to hack and cut through all who stand in their way. The single-edged steel blade curves up sharply to the tip, and has no fuller (although one could be added easily enough.) The blackened steel guard juts downwards to protect the hand, embellished with spikes, while the other end of the guard flares out sharply, with a triangular hole in the center. The wooden grip is covered in black leather, and the blackened steel pommel is shaped like a spike, with a smaller spike protruding from the top.
#21: Lightbringer
Overall: 50"
Blade: 40" long, 2" wide at widest point
Hilt: 10"
Forged by Grismaen, the god of smiths, the Lightbringer was given as a gift to Asliere, a demigoddess who served as a judge above mortals. Lightbringer was rarely drawn from its sheath in Asliere's early years, but as mortals became more sophisticated and warlike, the young goddess was forced to intervene. Events came to a head when Tychon, a man driven with the power and madness of the Barrowblade, invaded the home of the gods, and Asliere was sent to stop the mortals. Words were of no avail--Tychon charged towards Asliere, and the angel was forced to defend herself. After a brutal battle, Asliere cast Tychon back down to earth, and drove his army back through the Celestial Gate. Wounded, Asliere dragged herself back to the entrance of the temple, but was turned away by the gods. Bleeding, and in pain, she crawled back near the gate, expecting to die. But a young soldier, who did not retreat through the Gate, took pity on Asliere. He tended her wounds and nursed her back to health. In gratitude, Asliere gave the young man Lightbringer.
The steel blade gradually flares out near the middle of the blade, and tapers down to a sharp point. A tapering fuller runs down half the length of the blade. The silver crossguard is stylized like wings, and a gold, four-pointed star is in the center. The handle is hardwood, wrapped with steel wire, and the silver pommel is shaped like a diamond, and contains a blue stone inset in the center of it. The locket of the sheath is silver, and fluted towards the body, and the chape of silver is pointed, with an offshoot towards the center. The body of the sheath is wood, coated in dark blue leather, with an eight pointed star of silver and gold in the center.
#22: The Cragcarver
Overall: 30"
Blade: 24" long, 2" wide
Hilt: 6"
The dwarves...skilled masons, metalworkers, and fighters, their trusty blades are never far from reach, as none know where a tunnel can breach a goblin stronghold. The Cragcarver is the standard sword issued to the dwarf soldiers in their bitter struggles against the goblins.
The style of the sword is similar to a Roman gladius. The straight steel blade quickly forms into a point, and a portion of the blade is cut out, as shown in the concept drawing. The guard is cast from bronze, and appears to be made intersecting triangles, and the pommel is a gem cast in bronze. Dwarven runes are carved into the guard and pommel, and the ironwood grip is unadorned. The scabbard is made of leather, with strips of steel forming an X connecting the locket and chape together. Both the locket and chape are made of bronze, with intricate carvings displayed upon the locket (and possibly the chape as well.)
#23: Faelindel's Heir
Overall: 45"
Blade: 36" long, 1" wide
Hilt: 9"
Erutaron Rae-Telgalad, the prince of Faelindel, shunned all nobility and power that came with the title in his youth--not because of a self-sacrificing mentality, but rather a disgust for the nobles and "common people" his father, Lord Telgalad frequently associated with. Erutaron spent the vast majority of his childhood in the great forest around Faelindel and learned how to become self-sufficient. Erutaron's sword, Beothaen, was the only heirloom that displayed his heritage.
The steel blade is leaf-shaped, and a tapering fuller runs down half the length of the blade. The cross-guard is embossed with gold-plated leaves, and a gold "blossom" serves as the pommel. The handle is of some sort of hardwood, and is wrapped in dark green leather, while the scabbard has a dark green leather base with a stylized tree on top of it, constructed in gold. (Brass can be used in place of gold on both the hilt and scabbard.)
#24: Durlhach's Horror
Overall: 60"
Blade: 48" long, 2 1/2" wide
Hilt: 12"
The cruelest and most cunning of leaders among the Dur-Saal, Durlhach was a former spy in the service of King Madorean. The king sent Durlhach undercover among the Dur-Saal, but Durlhach ended up defecting, providing valuable information to the warlike people and proving himself in combat. King Grialsh, the leader of the Dur-Saal, led a mighty host against Teranor, the capital city of King Madorean against Durlhach's warnings. The Dur-Saal was beaten back by Walter Angrath, and King Grialsh was slain by the mighty champion. The remnants fled back to Durlhach, and swore fealty to him if he could crush "those Teranor fleas." Durlhach determined that the best thing for him to do would be to appoint a leader over the Dur-Saal, while he returned to Teranor and insinuated himself back in the city of Teranor--and through crafty persuasion and dark magic, became a trusted adviser of the new king.
Durlhach's sword is a weapon designed to strike fear upon those who witness it, and he only uses it when there is mighty struggle or dismembering enemies of his. The blade flares out close to the hilt into sharp spikes, continues upward in a straight fashion, then spikes out again approximately three inches from the tip. There are three fullers, one central fuller that stretches half the length of the blade, and the other two stop shortly after the first spikes. The center of the blade is blackened, leaving the steel edges exposed. The guard is cast in bronze and is coated in silver (or nickel)--four spikes intersect the center at forty-five degree angles, two longer, skeletal arms make up the actual hand protection, and an open mouthed skull adorns both sides of the guard, with spiked teeth and eyes set with black stones. The handle is constructed of hardwood, wrapped in black leather; and the silver/nickel coated bronze pommel, stylized like a hollow spike, has a black stone cast in the center of it.
#25: The Android
Overall: 34"
Blade: 28"
Hilt: 6"
This futuristic blade, cut out of steel, tapers sharply to a double-edged point, and three portions of the blade are cut out of it in order to lighten it. The steel cross-guard is constructed of steel bars in the shape of an "X", and connected together, with spikes pointing towards the tip of the blade. The hilt is made of steel/chrome pipe, with sections cut out to reveal black rubber rings inside the main grip (similar to this example: bigyellowbox.tripod.com/plans04/style4main.htm) The pommel is machined out of steel, with stylized flanges. The sheath is made of wood, coated in black leather, and features rectangular pieces of chrome-alloy steel in a checkerboard pattern.
#26: The Nautilus
Overall: 36"
Blade: 30" long, 3/4" wide
Hilt: 6"
The diamond-shaped blade of this sword is blued steel, straight, and culminates in a double-edged point. The guard and pommel are all one piece, cast out of bronze, and plated with brass, shaped like a hermit crab inside its shell. The legs protrude to protect the wrist of the sword hand. The handle is made of horn, shaped and carved to look like a rope, and embellished with gold wire. The sheath is made of navy blue leather, with a brass locket--shaped like a breaking wave--that extends almost halfway down the blade, and a brass chape completes the piece.
Hoffman
1.) Takes inspiration from tachi and eastern european sabers. I imagine it to be a sidearm for a fantasy military. Something officers might carry.
2.) A straightforward play on a longsword. A leaf blade with an exaggerated crescent guard. Could easily be carried by an elven swordsmaster.
3.) Influenced by Chinese Dadao and Indian Kora. It is a mighty cutting blade.
4.) A thrust centric arming sword drawing heavily from modern japanese fantasy like Sword Art Online and Final Fantasy.
5.) What if a meat cleaver but for fighting. A typical 14th C. arming sword hilt with short extremely choppy blade.
6.) A bardiche or lochaber axe meets greatsword. Never met a pike block it couldn't rout.
7.) A sword for the Grim Reaper. Inspired by German executioner's swords of the 16th C.
8.) Same as above with the Fantasy level turned up to 11.
9.) A short sword, or long knife, for fancy dress and assassins. Inspired by Wonder Woman wearing her sword down the back of a ballgown. Designed to be something a royal lady could wear to a ball without seeming out of place.

Blade: 30" long, 2 1/2" wide at widest point

Blade: 28"
