For those unaware of what I'm talking about please read this thread: /index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=412 Ok everyone. So finally I am seeing a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel. I've received the latest redesigned prototypes of my dao and jian. As mentioned in my thread in the General Section, they are plainer than what I had in mind but the prices are a whole lot more realistic. Prices can be seen here: /index.cgi?board=chineseswords&action=display&thread=4624&page=1#75114 The nice stuff originally planned have been moved to custom orders only. Here's a sneakpeek. More testing to be done on the sunny weekend. New jian compared to 1st prototype. Changed length; now it plays real nice.... Brand new liu ye dao (willow leaf saber) (29" blade! and wide! might have to shorten it...) Bifullered blade False edge Hilt Feel free to comment and/or ask questions.

I am not usually a fan of Asian swords, but I agree with harpersgrace and have the same question as to it's price and also when it might be available. Thanks.

Yes, I'm looking at getting an ox-tail, so I won't need to save up as long. I'm at $100 right now, so 2 and 1/2 months until I have the money =)

Do you have picture of the Ox tail dao ? The willow leaf look really nice , too bad it is a long wait for Dadoa (I have been wait for that one since last December ) Do you plan to shorten the Willow leaf blade ? (26-27" would be nice so I won't cut my garage ceiling )

Lookin' good! Some time down the road, I'll just have to get a willow leaf. But, uh, I'd better get the jian paid for first, eh??

Quote Brand new liu ye dao (willow leaf saber) (29" blade! and wide! might have to shorten it...) IMHO...I like the blade length as is. But, if you don't shorten it too much - keep around the length thana357 suggested..26' to27'..I'm still interested in one! I like the scabbard too.

Just came in from chopping wood. ;D They pass!
I've figured the length is about right (27"-29"). I will probably have both lengths available.
What is really bothering me is the width of the blade. It makes it so heavy. The weight is just killing me at about 2.6 lbs. A beast of a cutter though...

Here's the oxtail. I don't have any detailed pics yet. I've made a change. The willow leaf sabers will now be differentially hardened and $300.
