Just wondering how long does it take for you guys/gals to write a review?
Taking Pics = ~20 min Uploading Pics to PC = ~6 min Uploading Pics to Net = ~16-20 min Writing review and attaching pics from net =~30-40 min
So roughly 86 mins to do a review.
People don't realize how long it actually takes to write a review and it takes even longer to write a how to (e.g. Franks DIY instructions).
So first of all I would like to thank everyone who has written a review and How To Guide, and thankyou to everyone else who post and answer questions on this forum that's how we grow. This is what makes us a community.

Those numbers seem pretty spot on, except it usually takes me a bit longer to write the review and format all the pictures how I want them. But yes, it takes a while to write a cohesive review and discuss all the main points of the sword in good detail. (Thank you to all the teachers who taught me how to write. I always thought it would be useless, but we've proved me wrong!)

Blunt ~ It took me an 8-hour day to write this one: /thread/32046Please keep in mind, I am a grammar nazi who tends to get a little OCD about things like whether or not I split a verb. Not to mention having the photography skills of your average caveman painting bulls on a cave wall with a stick: so your mileage may vary

It also takes me much more time than this on average, most likely because I'm just slower than average I agree with the op 100% about where everyones efforts have brought this community as a whole and I am always thankful as I wouldn't know much of anything without it. Haley Joel Osment and Kevin Spacey can tell you more about this

seriously though, I have to admit that since joining here, i really do feel like i've learned more in my short stay so far than i could ever have on my own without devoting countless hours over the years. This forum really is a great place, no matter what your angle so long as it revolves around the blades we all love. I am thankful to all the members here who have either inspired, taught, corrected and early on even chastised me to beat me into the member i am today. SBG , for me at least, is the difference between having a hobby and being a part of it. The reviews are a much needed tool for understanding the specifics of a given blade, but it's the back and forth generated by a good review that provides the backbone for what this place feels like to me. Thanks to ALL OF YOU!

I can understand you just fine, Kaos  I get that for some people English is not their native language... I also get that the autocorrect on people's phones sometimes makes it sound like they don't speak noEngrish ttoo Don't worry. Not being judgemental of others here. Keep in mind my mom was an English teacher who would whack us with a wooden spoon if we didn't speak and write correctly. So I couldn't be sloppy about it if I tried 'cause it was beaten into my numb skull that we knew better  I will admit though, if someone doesn't bother to use any punctuation or capitalization in a post, most of the time I won't bother to read it either. Just too hard on the old peepers  Thanks to everyone here who gives their time to 'splain it to me in a review

This time frame guestimation was the recent comparison I did, have to agree my HW Gunto review took forever about a day aswell (video editing is a nightmare for me). You guys have really set the standards here with your reviews and I have to say those standards are really really high.
When it comes to swords I've learn't the gist of it here. The amount of knowledge and info here is abundant.

My reviews take between 5-7 hrs. Mostly because I write a lot, but there's also formatting of the images, formatting the videos, adding text and then of the other aspects you mentioned. I aim to do one or 2 detailed reviews a month. If I have more time off I'll shoot for 1 a week.

My time frame is closer to Marc's... maybe 3-6 hours. However, that is just the actual filming the cutting, taking the pics, getting the pics on photobucket and then on the site, (We still need to figure out the sizing issues on the new forums, REALLY annoying.) and lastly writing the actual review. There is also a lot of time spent handing the sword... doing drills with it... often some off camera cutting. All of that goes into learning the sword and framing an opinion for the review. It is a lot of work... and a pillar of what makes this site so special to me. I have mad respect for all the members who contribute reviews.

I spent about three hours total assembling the review I just posted, but I broke it up into a couple of sessions and did the photos separately. Admittedly, I threw this one together as the subject was less than impressive and will be stripped to component parts this weekend for a total rework before seeing the light of day again. I like doing sword reviews and will be doing more in the future. I do reviews for other things on other sites, and I find that if I take photos first and do the editing, things will pop out at me. I'll roll the pictures around in my head and the review sort of writes itself around them.
