Hey Brenno, funny you should mention it. I've been gathering pictures of the original Atlantean sword with the possible idea of sculpting a set of hilt parts. If I decide to go ahead with it, you'll be the first to know in case you want in on the project. ;D If you guys do decide to work on an Atlantean sword... please, for the love of god, let me in on it. If there is ANY feasable way for me to up with the cash, I'd do it. 2nd that. I have a Marto version, but I'm always interested in collecting more :-). --Edward P.S. Remember: Eating minute-package ramen for a month is temporary, but sword purchased with that food money can last forever :-).

Hey Mr. Spock, did you ever get a chance to take you Atlantean apart? A new grip wrap would really do wonders for the looks of it. Still a pretty good deal for $140, even if it is a wall-hanger. Brenno, ha I thought you might like that idea. Thanks for the interest Shadowhowler and ecovolo, we'll let you know... Thanks for the heads up Berserker Seth, I used to train with ninjas so I will be waiting Mwaahaahaahaahaa! ;D

Hey guys. There are some pretty RAD conan movie prop replicas around. I just saw a collection at this site: www.teraasekeskus.com/tuotteet.asp?osasto=fantasia&offset=all&lan=engThey look like Marto ones. But they say their sword is High Carbon steel. I thought it was a high chrome steel blade on that marto? Anyway, they'd look freaking awesome in a collection in my study.

Sure thing enkidu Hey Brenno, I didn't know there was so much stuff available. I like the helmet myself and the "fangs of the serpent" look pretty cool in bronze. The writing on the certificates in the background of the sword says "Marto". I thought the Marto words were high carbon steel. Did you watch the little video they have? There is a guy doing a voice-over of the speech Conan's father gives him about the Father's Sword, and it sort of re-creates the opening to the movie. Even has someone carving wax out of the cross-guard to sort of look as if he's doing the finish carving in the bronze, like the movie. Except with the other sword. A hand full of the "raptor fighting claws" from further down the page would be nifty.

BrotherBanzai, I haven't got the nerves to take it apart. I still have to find the cord to do the wrapping. I tried once, but I was uscrewing the pommel, the wrapping began to unwrap too, and I stopped and screwed the pommel back. As for the blades on TERÄ, if they are not Marto's, they are due to serious problems for unauthorized images use... Regards, Alex.

fast and honest answer from TERA :
Conan Swords are of high grade 440 series stainless steel, axes however, are hollow blade with decorating purposes only.
Cordially yours,

Either one of those is pretty simple. The Beastmaster sword has always been right behind the Conan swords on my list of favorite movie swords. You can buy the real version of the Beastmaster for a little less than $1500 from the Albion site.

yeah, if I had $1500 I would but that is a great deal of money in aussie dollars, I think Brendan could probably do it cheaper. The beastmaster sword combines two swords that I know quite intimately and I wonder about the mechanics of combining the two. I guess it is really the blade that interests me most, the fittings seem a little plain but still pretty awesome.

I agree, love the blade but the fittings are a bit dull. I'll probably eventually make something like that myself but with more interesting fittings. I think the blade would need some distal taper to handle well. The original fittings were carved out of blocks of brass with no casting involved, nice but pretty plain.

I've been considering knocking together some fitting drawings for the blade, the blade is possibly one of the most unique idea for a blade and also seconded that it would need some distal taper, depending on how long the blade was it would need it pretty extensively to handle well.
