I'll let everybody know what it really is like as soon as put my eager hands on it, but it will only happen on December 19th.... Is that your birthday? It's mine... ;D P.S. Since cutting with it is not very adviseable, I intend to swing it around just like Arnold did in the movie. I will try to record it and post to Youtube. Good luck with that... I look forward to seeing it. That sword is around 7-10 lbs right? Pulling of that cool little 'psudo-kata' Big Arnold dose in the film will not be as easy at it looks. I tried it with a basterd sword that weighed around 5 lbs back in the day... it wasn't very pretty. Then again, I suck.

Looks pretty darn good frpm here... That's the first sword that ever got me into swords... +1 Marc...I've always loved that sword, the father's sword...and even the mother's sword. All very cool. Some of the only Jody Samson blades I really liked. Cris

Yeah, too 'fantasy' and too overdone. Fantasy isn't bad in my opinion...I mean the Conan swords are in fact fantasy blades. I've got a short sword project going on that's very fantasy based...but the lines are clean, the sword is functional, and you couldn't picture an alien pirate using the thing lol. Most of Jody Samson's blades just don't suit my tastes is all. These three are really top notch though =).

No, it's not, it's just the day I arrive at SIL's house for the holidays... I guess the weight of the sword is about 8-10 pounds, I know it's heavy, but I have some practice in swinging swords around. Let's see if I can record it. Regards, Alex.

Got it last Friday. Man, it's huge! And heavy! It measures 100 cm, 52 cm for the blade and 48 cm for the hilt/ricasso. The pommel was a little loose, but I gave it half turn and it's fine now. I managed to swing it around, Conan style, but my technique is not as good as Arnold's ;D. I will record it and post to Youtube. I can't post pictures right now because this is SIL's computer, but on January 7th I'll be home. So, no pictures 'till then. Regards, Alex.

I will post them next wednesday, Jjanuary 7th. I'll be back in Rio next Tuesday, but I'll have to unpack and settle things down at home first. But I can tell you right now that it worths every penny. Of course, it's a wallhanger, but it's a sword I've been willing to have for a long time. And you can always wrap the handle with some cord to make it look like the original one. Regards, Alex.

Of course, it's just a wall hanger. But, it looks like a great copy of the Albion & Marto versions, and in these economic times, a cheaper, good copy is a great alternative, and damn hard to pass up.
Happy New Year!

Okay.....I just couldn't resist. It just kept bugging me and I kept looking at the pictures in the ad, so I bought one this weekend. I should have it by the end of the week. I still want to see your pictures, Mr. Spock. I'm pretty sure we got the same thing.

Hi people, sorry for the delay, but when you come back from vacation, things tend to pile up... Here are some pictures. I'm having some trouble with Photobucket, but managed to upload these: I measured it carefully, and here are the dimensions: Total lenght: 103 centimeters blade lenght (from end of langlets): 54 centimeters hilt/ricasso: 49 centimeters I haven't had time or courage to take it apart and see the tang. The overall finish of the sword is very good. The wrapping of the handle of course is PVC leatherette, and I may replace it someday. The weight is about 4 1/2 kg. That's a lot. There is no distal taper. I'm very pleased with the sword (ok, SLO). I intend to swing it around and record it for Youtube this weekend. The brass guard of the ricasso is a tinny little bit loose on my sword. Nothing that will bother me, but if you hit the sword on the blade with one fist while holding it only by the handle, you can hear a little vibration from the guard. If you, like me, has always wanted an Atlantean (at least since you first watched the movie), and can't afford Albion's or even Marto's (like me), this one will make you happy for sure. Hope this poorly written lines help. Regards, Alex.

I do have pictures of the pommel, but as I said, I had some problems with Photobucket. Here it is: As far as I know, based on the odor, the fittings are cast brass, treated to look old. As a chemical engineer, I will try to take a small sample from it and analyze someday. I don't have a broadsword, but the Atlantean is approximately the same size as my Cheness Ranko Katana. Regards, Alex.

Here is me with the sword. Just for scale, I'm 6 feet 4 1/2 inches tall. One last detail I forgot to mention: you have to look very carefully to note it, but the runic inscriptions are mirrored compared to Marto's. But since they don't mean anything, that's not a problem for me. Sds, Alex.
