That is a jug massacre if ever I seen one! Beautiful swords of course, that A&A Kriegsmesser of yours has always made me insanely jealous.

All the swords handled very well but the real surprise for me was the Albion Mercenary, light enough for 1 hand but still very nimble, It really impressed me considering it was the lowest priced sword here.
The Principle and Baron were unstoppable, just slicing through these bottles, along with one of my all time favourite cutting swords the Longship Morrigan.
The A&A Kreigsmesser really needs heavier targets as these bottles offer no resistance for a blade of this size.
The longship Verrimus is in the same boat with the Steerboard great cutters, but with the weight forward these two get tiring after a while.
The two "Wheel of Time" sabres, the Longship custom "Justice" and the Fable Blades " Dance of the Marsh Wader" were both fabulous, light enough for one hand, but fast and very elegant when used with two hands. And last, the Odinblades hollow ground longsword was a real treat, this was my first time cutting with this sword, it was simply stunning, this sword is very similar in size and specs to the Longship Armoury "Odin's Oar" that is to be released soon so it is kind of a teaser / preview for when it comes out.
Had a great day, except for the clean up.

Just a quick update, for a newly arrived Odin's Oar, will hopefully get to use it this weekend and take some daylight photos, struggling to find room to hang new swords as starting to double up, got a couple of other new swords to add as well.

The size of your collection really is something else, and all impressive pieces as well, amazing stuff.

What are your impressions of the new Lundemo? Just curious as John did not make the blade but only did the finish work on it.

As you can see in the photo's it is great to look at, and due to its light weight it handles very well, but this is because the blade is thin, I did a quick comparison with my hand of Tyr from Fable blades. Odins Oar Hand of Tyr Blade Length 89cm 86.5 cm blade width guard 6.5cm 7 cm Blade width 40cm 5.5cm 6 cm blade width 80cm 4.5cm 4.8cm Distal Taper guard 4.8mm 5.9mm Distal taper 40cm 3.55mm 4.99mm Distal taper 80cm 2.8mm 3.7mm weight from web site 3lbs 4oz 4lbs 8oz In this photo you can see it buried under a pile of others swords only one of them was more flexible than it, the Albion Gallowglass. It's thin and very flexible, for those expecting a big heavy warsword and to be honest I was one of them, it's not, but when I first got my A&A kreigsmesser I was disappointed at the flex in the blade ( still a lot stiffer than the Oar), but after cutting with it that doubt vanished as it handled and cuts beautifully so hopefully in a few weeks I'll get to do some cutting with it, I've seen the youtube video of people cutting mats so it seems to be able to handle it ( though I was a bit alarmed at the blade flexing that much as it was cutting), will just have to hold out on final judgement till I'm able to do so myself.

Thanks for the info....Knowing John did not make the blade, I was very curious. These joint ventures can be strange as I have never handled a blade by the guy who made them.
I have one coming sometime and was expecting a stout warsword.......
I checked out the video. Sword does cut very well and is well constructed. Nothing wrong with a blade like that but not the normal John makes himself.

Slayer of Darkness, first up there is a review of this sword by Sean ( shadowhowler ) here: sbg-sword-forum.forums.net/thread/26842, I think Sean was the swords second owner. Here are a few photos that I took recently. At just 2lb 3oz in weight (Sean's measurements here as I've no scales) it is very light, lighter than a lot of one handed swords, but the larger grip pulls the POB back to about 3 " inches making the blade very nimble even with one hand. Here are the blade measurements. Overall length 99 cm, Actual blade length 74.5cm Blade width 5cm at flare in ricasso distal taper 5.69mm Blade width waist 3.3 cm, distal taper 3.7mm distal taper 3.2mm at 5 cm from tip This is the only Odins blade sword I own that I've not cut with but being very close to the Morrigan in size and shape I would think it would do very well as the Morrigan is probably my most used sword, overall it is a very light and fast sword that looks great, it does come with a scabbard of the same colour but that is tucked away in the shed.
