bushy xm-15e2s...someone upgraded the sin out of it.
light on my ar won't bob...as much, I think, since recoil is nil. In my eyes the only benefit for light is to ID friendlies and the neighborhood doggies  Hypothetically-If it were a gunfight...I'd probably actually switch off my light. I haven't shot any rifles in the dark...hopefully less muzzle flash as well. I'm not sure what others think of flashlights, but it's better to have one than not (by a bare margin in my book).
Most of the shotguns on here are without slings. I've been tempted to get one...but not sure if it's practical.

Most of the situations I envision using my shotgun or rifle are a home defense situation. I don't often have my shotgun or rifle when I travel... mostly only my carry pistol and a car pistol. So the Shotgun and rifle are for home defense. I expect its likely to be dark when I'm using a shotgun or rifle to defend my home... and a light to see what I'm shooting would be VERY important.

Since we're talking lights, what do you guys think of strobe lights.I would imagine it could be pretty disorientating having one pointed at you in the dark, but I don't know if they're actually useful or just a gimmick (yes I've watched Kick Ass)

IT IS!
A lot of guys use strobe lights on their airsoft carbines and they are very difficult to shoot back at. I can't even begin to tell you how tricky it is to hit someone even at 15 yards when they are flashing me in the face. But i'd only use it in brighter areas as the strobe can disorient you too if it's too dark in the room.

A conversion kit!? Awesome! I personally don't like the feel of bullpup rifles/shotguns. I've handled tha KSG and it was ehh...
that being said, they are practical and will be the gun that everyone carries in military in the near future.

I love Bullpups... I am lusting after a Tavor right now. I like the idea of the KSG, 15 rounds, bullpup, multi ammo ammo ability with selection... But its a Kel Tec and I just don't trust them to make something that won't have issues. The kit for the 870 looks like it would fit me a lot better, I'm really tempted.

The UTAS-15 is another one, but it seems like the best use for that gun would be to give it to the enemy because it totally sucks. I personally admire more simple designs in guns and it seems to me like these tacti-awesome shotguns are just more complicated than they are worth. I'd take my 870 over anything.

The UTAS-15 looks like a piece o &^%$. Seen plenty of reviews with lots of failures. Which is why I'm digging the bullpup i linked... very simple, and its built of my existing 870.

I have never seen a bullpup design that comes close to fulfilling the primary strength of a shotgun. That being, it mounts and points instinctively and allows you to quickly and effortlessly hit moving targets.

My latest one.A suppressed 12 gauge Mossberg 500. It sounds like a loud hand clap with subsonics, but that can makes it a 55 inch overall length .Still cool shooting without ear defenders though. Attachments:
