Jeez, you go to work one day and the place goes to bananas!
Yes, the #2 blade was the first made for Dave, next will be the #3 blade, etc and then John and I have a blade for last (#1 and #7). Hopefully we can start to get progress shots soonish to interspurse the random chatter (please continue with it - I like random chatter!)
Cheers!

Blade #6 and #8, They both have a buyer lined up, I have not made those so far down the line put down a deposit yet, because of the delays getting this off the ground. If you would like to be in the line of succession, send me a PM.
Cheers

hmm do you think that the patina would suffer as a result of this?

Oh yeah, Conan. The patina only goes down a couple of molecules deep into the metal (as opposed to paint, which sits a couple of molecules or more, depending on thickness and number of layers, on top of the metal). Patina is actually a chemical reaction of the surface of the metal to whatever patina solution is being applied - usually applied to the metal after heating it up to excite the surface level of metal molecules, making them more accepting of the chemical reaction. I've heard patina described as a "controlled oxidation" - the color resulting from what particular combination of chemicals are used. So when you grind off the top of the "bump" of the dragon scale, that chemically reacted layer is going with it. You'll have bran-shiny-new metal where you've done your carving. If the metal is bronze or brass you should be able to get it back presentable with a careful application of one of the many available commercial brand patina formulations. Birchwood Casey is a good one. www.sculptnouveau.com/Details.cf ... category=6 Go for it, Bro!!!

It's been a while since we've heard anything on this project, so I thought I'd ask:
What's the latest?

Yes... you know it, don't you boy? Shall I tell you? Its the least I can do. Steel isn't strong, boy... FLESH is stronger. What is steel compared to the HAND that weilds it?
