Thought I should mention, I have one blade remaining unsold, it's the ugly duckling of the lot (blade 8) but John has thought up a few etching patterns that might use the over fuller (like a dragon spewing flame!) and it will still be a mighty blade and very capable of destorying targets provided you have the upper body strength of Arnie! John also took a pic with a Tinker cross guard on it! Regards, Rob

first good - Its Christmastime! Ho ho ho!!!...jolly, jolly!!!... the bad - Its Christmastime! Christmas order delivery obligations are F'ing overwhelming my regular, overtime and personal work schedule... second good - on Dec. 26th Project Conan again takes center stage and I expect Sword # 1 for Dave to be finished, ready for delivery, in late January or early February. I will post more photos soon.

Thanks John for posting (I've been wrangling through boxes since my container arrived last week) - this first piece is when all the hard work comes into crafting it and even though it may seem like a long time they will get faster after the first, but the important thing is to make sure they are spot on and everyone is happy.
Regards,
Rob

Hey Travis,
I got a PM from John's wife two days ago to say he is laid up from a visit to the hospital at the moment. Waiting for more details still - I know if he was near a computer he would have to comment on the Tinker sale at least...
He was about to post pictures of the dipping (which is boring but progress) so thats what we should see next.
Let you know more when I can.
Rob

Hey All I talked to Greybeard this afternoon he called from the hospital. His spirits are up and he asked me to convey his missing his forum family. I took the liberty of speaking the kind words that you all have posted. I assured him that things would be here when he is ready, now is his time to heal. I willrepost this in the cafe

My fellow Conan-ites!! (whoa, that sounds kind of biblical, doesn't it? Conan-ites... hahahaha)
First, my apology's for leaving you all somewhat in the dark, other than knowing I've been out of commission lately. And my heartfelt thanks for all the kind words, concerns and good wishes for my recovery that you've all shared with me.
Where things stand right now: The surgeon says I shouldn't expect to be able to work before around six weeks post-op. I'm a little past halfway there right now. I had thought that I'd be able to use this "idle" time to catch up on the waxes, but I've found that the surgeon was right about "work", any kind of work... My energy level, and consequently my abilty to concentrate on any kind of task are still just shot to hell. Its getting better every day, but I started from a very far down place.
So all that puts me getting back to serious work on Project: Conan sometime at the end of this month. I'm hoping to be able, at that time, to take up where I left off, so that sword #1 will be finished mid-April, and then onward from there.
Sitting around the house, "convalescing" (man, I never before had a proper understanding/appreciation of the meaning of that word...) gives me way too much time to think of all the stuff I want to do when I can, again... And meanwhile, thats all I can do - sit around letting my bod pick up steam again, and think about stuff.
Which is a long winded way of saying - the frustration at not seeing our Conan Atlantean Warrior swords start to be finally realized, well its coming from my direction too. But there's light on the hoizon! And I promise - not so long between updates from now on.
Peace,
John

Hope your feeling better John... I can't wait to see the first completed sword and see the others come to fruition... its an epic project indeed! I had a chance when I visited Kev and Midori a bit ago to see some fittings you made for a katana... REAL quality stuff. Tsuba and menuki and whatnot, awesome. I would love to get you to make some fittings for a Katana of mine in the future. You bring that level of quality to the Conan swords and its going to be mindblowing! Peace Brother.

John-take your time and heal-I can only speak for myself-I'd rather wait than find out you hurt yourslef or caused complications because of my Atlantean-I can wait because I know what an awesome sword I will hold my hands.Take care of yourself 1st John-the rest can wait.

John, Thanks for keeping us updated on you status-- *any* news is good news to hear . Personally, I'd rather have you healed up to 100% completion before continuing this project-- *so don't rush it*. Convalescing takes well-needed time in order to work. Be well, and thanks for keeping us in the loop. --Edward
