Yeah that's what I was thinking too. I wouldn't want to leave those off, they're just too iconic.
Damn there are just too many temptations out there right now while I'm trying desperately to save money lol.

I think it would be more accurate to say using another set as a start. John is doing a lot of work on the waxes to bring the details and they need modification to fit the Albion blades. Hopefully they will look awesome, fit beautifully and work out but it's not a easy straight swap from cast to bronze.

As of right now, all blades are spoken for - pending deposits to go ahead. If you want in as first on the wait list though you can?
Regards, Stromlo SWords

What a cool thread. I've not spent quite as much time reading the threads as I would like to of late. This is a nifty project indeed, fellas. Can't wait to start seeing finished product. Those waxes and that refinished blade looks real swell. Hope to see more snapshots soon.

Yes there is actually 8 - but one is for me! As these are the original Albion Conan blades, there will never be any more. I have had a couple people with Moat blades of their own talk to me - but that will be it, a piece of history.

Hey Travis and DeeJay - thanks for sharing your enthusiasm for the project - I feel just as lucky to be working with Rob on these Epic Conan swords!!! I'll be posting updates with photos, as the project progresses. Next up we'll be casting the first bronze for the furniture.

Quick little update for now. Shortly I'll be assigning blade numbers which will be the same throughout. This should make it easier to keep up with where everything is up to. If you have paid a deposit, I'll assign you a number and post the spec's you are after so we get a double check. Before I do let me answer a few questions. The default is what I call the ORIGINAL package, which is white cord/rope grip wrap over wood core, etching as per the sample, slightly pitted blade, bronze funiture with aged patina and peened construction. We can change any feature, so if you want just wood grip, or something else ok. If you want unique etching, nothing uber fancy hopefully, ok. If you want blade left slightly pitted, or more highly polished. John has mentioned it takes a fair bit of steel off to get the full polish, but again, if you want it, ok. Bronze can be done with an aged patina, or left shiny (not super shiny) and laquered. Lastly and most important, yes they can be sharpened, cutting sharp but not insane sharp. If you like insane sharp you no doubt already do it yourself anyway and have individual preferences. If you have your own moat blade, yes we can get you into the project, but it will be after the guys already laying down the orders. Yes all the blades are being held, and I have a couple on the wait list, but if you want in let me know and who knows, someone might pull out. Oh lastly standard etching will look as close to this as we can: Cheers!
