Thanks for the heads up on the joint operation Tom!
If I were king of the world, these shirts would come in black. Over the past couple of years I've reduced my wardrobe to black pocket t-shirts. I have a couple olive drab ones, but for the most part it's black. It's just so much easier to not worry about stains and the like.
But I could totally see the MyArmoury guys going for an Oakeshott shirt.

Excellent idea! Sign me up for a bunch.
But as mentioned, please thoroughly look into the copyright issues. We don't want any lawsuits being filed!

I love black shirts too, but I think this one might be better as a parchment color just to look old-fashiony but I like black

Ok, If you are wanting to do this, and i think it's a great idea. THe only problem would be, If your getting them screen printed with 5 color seperation, just the initial screen fee, making the screen is gonna run about $200 to $250. the the actauly process of geting them made , Labor. I think to be most beneficial way to do this would be to get the design done, get the screen made and then let those who want one send the t-shirt they want to be printed on themselves. That way there is no extra cost. And most folks do have a shirt lyting around , maybe brand new in a closet somewhere. End everyone will have theyre own size. Most of the time larger sizes will run higher, and although the printer may be getting them at a wholesale price, we wont. And anyone out there thats larger than a 2X will end up having to pay more. ( and if this does go thru, I have plenty of oversixed black and dark blue t-shirt that have neve been worn that i could maybe supply.) I'll type more if there is any questions, ut ive just woke up so my brian is not at 100% right now. But this is a good start to what could be a great idea.

what Bradlee says is true and even though I would LOVE to have different type sword shirts (a XII, XIV, XVI, XVIII) doing that would require seperate set-up for each different type. and could be really expensive. anyone here do silk screening as a hobby?

I think I'd like green or parchment. Something similar to the back ground of this forum.

My best friend down here owns a screen printing company, thats why i have information. toucanscreenprinting.com/Hes really good to work with and if we supply all of our own shirts, it'll defiantly be cheaper. I have shirts from him that ive worn for 5 or more years and theyre still bright and colorful.

Count me in on this! This is a GREAT idea, Greg!!! (even though it probably won't score you a quick million or a one in a million Sweety like Sean's... hahahahahaha)
I used to dabble in supplying screen-printed shirts for our dojo and for my whitewater paddling club. Any decent printer should be able to supply a few different colors for the shirts - black, green or parchment . And as long as the image thats being printed and the ink color are the same for all of them, then it shouldn't cost any more for the different color shirts.
Tom's right, though, about only having one image (sorry - no "choose your type" - although that would make a great line over an illustration of the typology!) since each different image incurrs cost for a new screen and press set-up.
And BradleeeMan's right about us triple Xtra boys payin more for our extra yard of t-shirt cloth... just the way it is...

I like the idea. I've make a lot of shirts. At low-quantity expect a wholesale price of $8-$12 a shirt for a good quality shirt. I'd encourage you to think about this in a way that might help the community as a whole. Perhaps some of the proceeds could go towards the Oakeshott Institute or to SBG.

I'd be okay with shelling out a good amount for something as simple as the general chart of all Oakeshott's typologies. Especially if proceeds benefit _______________.
Then again, I've said that for other things, and found my funds lacking when they came available...or my interest waning in light of differing ends...
But this time I'll try to keep to it. Maybe! :x

ok...so I dont sleep anymore apparently. so, heres a start. or... What I really need is a shot like the one above with a black background. SO if anyone has their favorite generic shape of this sword, take a good picture of it. put on photo bucket, and send it to me. Oh and make sure it doesnt have a black grip If you want to see a handle in the final . Bacause if you do, it'll just be black, and if we're putting it on different colored shirts, I think you'd want to see at least some of the grip. well, whatcha think?

I have thought about doing this for a while. I was talking to forum member John Erikson about buying his designs (to avoid any copyright issues) see here sbgswordforum.proboards.com/inde ... 996&page=1 and still donating money to SBG, or Oakshotte or for a prize winner. What about those - esp the group shot on the back...

Some really great ideas coming forth here. I like Bradlee's on the front (with the word "your" in italic) and Rob's idea for JohnErickson's group shot (all line drawings, different swords) on the back. Sweeeeeeeet!!! Black shirt, 2XL, order of three, please.
Now how are we going to make this happen?

I like the idea of haveing a back and front of the shirt as well. Some of us like to wear button downs over a T-shirt. I know I hardley ever wear Just a t-shirt. ( I'm fashionable that way. ). The sword on teh front is an albion 15th C. Medieval I believe, but as nice as it looks I'd like to use a production shirt, Maybe ask Sonny if we can use a silhoette Of one of his swords. Or not. But we do need something with some kind of depth, if not just for shadows and such. But 1st we need to figure out a. who's going to be in charge of this. b. Who is going to be responcible for handling the money. c. how many exactly are we going to need. And what sizes. I can speak for myself I'm not going to pay upwards of $30 for a non-printed t-shirt (big boy sizes) When I hava closet full of brad new 4X Black shirts. Most places you a have to order Quantity of certain sizes, they wont let you throw in random sizes, becasue whoever we get to do this will have to buy in bulk. d. Are we going to have extras printed. and finally for now, e. Who is going to do the work ( which Printer ) ok...more ideas later.

I'm thing this and this is just an Idea, Does anyone want to move this further along than just us. If this goes well, WE could do a couple of different t-shirt designs over the year. and donate money to different charities. Breast Cancer, Support the troops, Habitat for humanity, Ronald McDonald house, SHriners Hospital, I mean we're more than the sum of our parts, and as a community, because thats what we are is a community, We could do some good out of all this. I'm currently waiting on a price quote for 148 T's, Black or olive, Back and Front. 2 color seperation. That way we could have enough for us, and maybe for the SBG store, and if we can get Sonny in on this he could sell them through his site as well, Just list a portion of the procedes will be given to _________ ( enter Charity here.) Any other Ideas?

Hey guys, I like the idea. As far as getting the shirts made, we might want to set up a store at Cafe Press, www.cafepress.com. A basic store is free. We design the shirts and they make it and ship it, and we get 10% of the money for each order. Theoretically, this would allow us to offer the shirt in multiple colors, types, etc. without having to invest a lot of money up front. I've ordered from them before, and their quality is good. Regular t-shirts generally sell for about $20 apiece. Just a thought, Alan
