As the other thread got all serious, I wanted to post something a little more fun. Enjoy.

That guy was a major tool, but is it necessary to use slurs?

Sam: strange he bears no resemblance to a stick
The guy is an idiot with no understanding and no technique. Yes it looks flashy and some people might say it looks "cool" but no self respecting swordsman/woman would do that with a katana, especially the bit where he flips it up in the air. Also was it just me or was he actually puffing after his first cut?

Ever since first seeing that guy when my son or I find something silly we say "Yeee-ottchhh!" It's become our code word for "This is goofy beyond words". My wife just shakes her head.

nah that would be semprini, which is a bundle of sticks ;D However I think he'd go up a treat with that much oil on his body.

Nah, that's just the British/Aussie usage. Actually, taken from dictionary.app: semprini 1 |semprini| noun [in sing. ] informal chiefly Brit. a tiring or unwelcome task : it's too much of a semprini to drive all the way there and back again. • Brit. a junior pupil at a private preparatory school who works and runs errands for a senior pupil. verb ( fagged , fagging ) [ intrans. ] Brit., informal work hard, esp. at a tedious job or task : he didn't have to semprini away in a lab to get the right answer. • Brit. (of a pupil at a private preparatory school) work and run errands for a senior pupil. ORIGIN mid 16th cent. (as a verb in the sense [grow weary] ): of unknown origin. Compare with flag 1 Interesting. I guess we could say he really was fagging it up there.

Heh, liquid Katana. He has liquid narcissism, that's what makes him shine like that. Funny how a lot of his moves look like Wushu..... Oh wait, they are... It's funny how every episode of that show they manage to find "The best (fill in the blank)"

OI VEY!!!
And if that isn't enough, might I remind the gentleman from the vid that Japan never actually succeeded in conquering China with their thin - whippy (see separate rants in the Chinese Swords forum about that) Jian and Dao.

ok, first, since i watched this again... i did not see tha japanese swordsman bouncing around and flipping his sword, oh and try that behind the back thing with a double edged sword the way he did it... the new catch phrase would be OOouuuuccchhhiieee!!!
secondly i noticed that we have been doing some things wrong in our cutting styles. first you shouldnt cut tatami. second you shouldnt drink jello shots and third..... you should practice cutting your jello shots in the shape of a human target.
third thing i noticed, if i was to really oil my sword a whole lot, and build up a sweat, then maybe i would get the sword oil all over me and look real cool.
